We unfortunetly had to file a chapte 7 Bankruptcy, and when we went to our court hearing none of the creditors showed up. And from my understanding from a few friends if the creditors did not show up to refute anything it was done. Ok after the court date was over our Trustee Which is some what known as a crooked person wants us to write her a check for 2,250.00. Not to the bankruptcy court, but to her personally. That does not sound right to me at all because our lawyer had been paid in full, and I just don't understand if the creditors aren't requesting anything and didn't even show up why is this women(trustee) wanting money(a personal check made out to her). Please help I feel we are being ripped off.

Contact the Bankruptcy Court and report this abuse. There should be no legitimate reason a Trustee wants you to write a check to them personally.

If you filed chapter 7 and none of your depts were sucured you are done. Now if you owne a home and have equity in it the trustee could sell your house yo pay creditors. Call your attorney

The best advice will come from the Attorney who handled this from you, someone familiar with the circumstances and all of the facts.

You could very well be buying back a share in some property or asset - hard to tell without knowing the details. Who told you the Trustee is a "crooked person"? Crooked people usually ask for cash, not checks which can be traced.

So call the Trustee and ask for an explanation IN WRITING.
