My daughter loaned her boyfriend 5000.00 to purchase a car. They entered into a verbal agreement to pay back the loan. He broke up with her a week after (something I told her he would do:mad:) and now doesn't want to pay the loan. While she's stuck with the $5000 loan from the credit union for his car. (His car was $3000 and he gambled 2000.00 away.. dummy). So my question is, does she have the right to go after him. His bank account will show he had no money while hers shows she took out a loan at that time. Does she have any legal recourse?

A verbal contract is binding, but it has to be proven. How did she give him the money? Did she just hand him cash?

She gave him a loan, he used part of it for a car,
The correct thing would have been for her to be listed on the title as the lien holder, so she coul repo the car, now she can not.

She can sue, and get a judgement, but >>> does he have a job, does he have money in the bank to pay her, my guess is no, so even if she wins in court how is she going to get the money from him
