Hi, I was just wondering if anyone would know if it is safe to help your dog have her puppies? My dog just had puppies this morning at 4 am. I was in the room while she was delivering just to make sure everythign went OK. You know that smell that they have when born? That foul smell... well I know that being around kitty litter while pregnant isn't very safe due to infection to the baby.. well is it safe and OK to be around the dog born smell?

Perfectly safe. What you are avoiding with kitty litter is the feces itself. Cat feces carries toxoplasmosis. Dogs do not.
