I just bought a new car. My credit is not perfect do to debt in the past but most has been corrected now. Ford Credit is who the loan is through but looking at my report they ran it through 10 times. Four of those are through Ford Credit. How do they have the right to do this, if I wasn't approved on the first application I would have accepted that and not bought the car. NO WAY would I have allowed them to run it 10 times!
Is there anything I can do to fix this? My credits not great but I heard each credit check can count as 5 or so points off my score. If this has any truth to it that means I could be facing a 50+ point drop; I damn sure didn't fill out my one credit application knowing they were going to do this.
Do I have any rights? This isn't just my credit either as there was a co-signer with good credit who could now face this same drop.

Well you can dispute it with. The credit beure one inquiry per bank but when you go to a dealer they will send that app to all of there associated banks to get you the best interest rate

Thanks for the awnser;
Do you, or anyone else, know how 10 credit checks will effect my credit and score, and the other co-signer, since there is nothing I can do now?
I'd try to dispute the Ford one's but they come from different Ford names. One's capital Ford, the dealership I got it from, one's Ford Credit, and the other two are other versions of Ford. I supposed in this sense they are "different" banks and can't be disputed?
