Hi,

I came on here a while ago I sued a contractor and homeowner, won against both. Contractor had no insurance so there is a judgment against him. I have an attorney I don't know what he is doing, I would like to know for myself what can be done. The contractor has a website and is now insured, I know I cannot go against his insurance now, but he is up and operating fully licensed and insured. Has expanded since the accident occurred. There is a judgement against him my attorney said he has not answered and they will try to freeze bank account but they don't know what bank he banks with. I know he has trucks equipment etc. It is a large judgment, at least to me it is large. I suffered greatly, I am not looking to destroy the mans business or lively hood. I understand he had no consideration for me when I was injured but I have a conscience. I wish he would answer and offer me something. I was awarded 200k I guess he can go out of business but that is so stupid what happens next? What can I do?

If you are willing to settle for a portion of the judgement I think this case is a perfect candidate for one of those companies that "buys" your judgement. Then they go about collecting it.

I'm sure there are good ones and bad ones out there - just like with every kind of business.

What state?

You find his bank accounts and freeze them. You see about putting liens on his properties, esp if he is doing any spec building.those.

But as we have said winning the judgement is easy ( really) but ever getting your money is another. Sadly most judgements are never collected
