I'm a beginner: I have purchased 1 yard of canvas at my local material shop. I want to make a banner that introduces my "Double Take Designs". I do funky, painting on furniture... I'm beginning to show them at tiny craft shows around my community. I want to make a banner out of canvas. I don't know the first thing except what I've been reading... This is what I think I do:

Soak it in HOT water
Let it dry hanging up?
Prime it with Gesso (front and back)
Paint on it
Seal it with a Polycrylic?

Sew the sides
Put the dowel through the top?

I will be using acrylic paints.

Thanks so much!
