My house is haunted by evil spirit (I would say a devil would be more appropriate word). It has attacked me number of times and at times make me completely taken over. Whenever it happens, I pray very hard and then that thing runs away but I usually get very weak after this. I pray and pray and house will become clean for some time. If I stop praying, that thing comes back with greater force and hurt me further. I could not get proper sleep.

The house will be full of negative energy. Any new person who comes in the house sense it. I don't know what to do. The devil is very shrewd. I happen to tell these things to my neighbour one day and he told me same problem with his house. We both pray and at times it appears when my house is clean, the devil goes in my neighbours house and trouble him and vice versa. It has become a never ending story. Both me and my neighbour has lost sleep, health and constantly under depression.

Both me and my neighbour individually played religious songs in our houses. The devil is so strong, that the music system gets turned off and if its computer, it gets shut down. There is no help from anywhere.

Can someone help on what to do urgently? I am based in India

When your soul is whole, complete, with no gaps or wounds or weak spots, then there is no place for an evil spirit to enter to harm or possess you. But most of us aren't like that. Most of us are not bodhisattvas. We have lots of holes in our souls where we were wounded as children or where we have acted out of fear or pain or pride. So one of the best things you can do is to work on that, to seek peace and enlightenment within whatever faith tradition you follow.

Whatever faith you belong to, you should be able to find a good, wise elder in your area who can come to your house and confront this spirit. Go find such a person.

The devil rarely does his own work. He sends his own demons out... they can be very powerful and like generals of the military are in control from 10 to 50 legions... if not more. So, you may have a demon there but like Alder said you will need to be strong yourself prior to confronting. A lot of people will argue that there is no such thing as the devil or demons but I think they do exist if you are weak and easily influenced. They do attack at night the most but will react to you in the day. There are a lot of cleansing techniques you can use natural herbs but I think you will need to focus on yourself first... protect yourself and have your house blessed. Only the first stages... it is pointless to cleanse your house if you are sick as well... you will not be removing the disturbance permanently.
