A jet plane lands with a speed of 100m/s and can accelerate uniformly at a maximum rate of -5.0m/s as it comes down to rest can this plane land at an airport where the runway is .80km long.

Cool. Thanks. Did you have a question we could help you with?

You know the initial velocity of thee plane (100 m/s) its final velocity (0 m/s), and its acceleration (-5 m/s^2), and you want to find the distance it takes to go from that initial velocity to the final velocity. I bet if you look in your text you'll find a formula that ties together V_initial, V_final, a and d. Use that formula to solve for d. Let us know what you get for an answer.
