I have a GE Dryer that makes a buzzing noise every time you try and start the dryer. The dryer will not turnover. Yesterday, I smelt a burning smell when the dryer was running. Is my dryer shot?

See if you can rotate the drum by hand. It sounds as though the drum is stuck. If you're lucky, you'll unstick it and the smell was just the belt slipping on the motor pulley. (If you're unlucky, it is probably an electrical problem--and possibly shot) There's not much to a dryer, but paying for a service call adds up quickly.
