Help! I have a 1929 toilet with a 16" rough in (wall to center of drain bolt). But I can't find a new toilet. Who makes them with this rough in?

Many thanks

Hey Johnnylong...

Best you will do in this case will be a 14" rough in toilet. All major toilet maufacturers make them...Kohler, American standard, Toto....etc.

Otherwise you may be able to find a vintage tank/bowl that installs with an old 2" chrome elbow... but expect to pay around $1000.00 or so... ;)

I would opt. for the 14" rough in and if possible maybe install an offset flange to bring fit tighter to wall... but again, asumming you have older cast iron pipe this can get to be a bit of work.

Let me know what you think here...

You could also think about an offset flange which would give you back about 1 1/2" closer to the wall with a 14" toilet. That half inch isn't such a bad thing since you never want your tank to get anywhere near touching th wall.
