Help! The blower on my system was making a loud continual racket and after dissasembling it, it seemed that the motor was going bad. It smelled bad and there was slop in the motor shaft. Took it to Grainger and they agreed that it was on the way out. After installing a new motor and reassembling, it started up as it should have and the SAME dang noise is going on! It is working just fine other than this loud, vibrating noise. Any suggestions?

It could be the cage part of the fan is out of balance. No way to really check this so a replacement is in order. You might also check the blower motor mounting band kit if one is used on your blower. Many times the metal cracks allowing the motor to move around causing a racket.

The cage I was talking about if balanced at the factory by adding push on clips to the curved blades. Over time these clips can come off and that is when the problem starts. One other tip. I am sure you cleaned the cage when it was out for the motor replacement. The curved area of the blade collects dirt and that can also cause a problem.

Might take a look at the actual hub. I have seen the hub separate from the fan and make the worst damn noise ever... but if you are going to replace the cage anyway I guess it's a moot point lol.

Yep when you replace the cage it comes with a new hub for free.
