my dual sink drains slow and when i wash dishes, i have to hold the stopper down in the wash sink when i am rinsing in the other one, because it bubbles up and knocks the stopper lose. when i use my garbage disposal it shoots groung food into the other side. i read where i should have a friend hole the rag in the one side while i plunge the other, but it did not work. can someone help me?

Do this:

1. Have one person to hold wet rag in one drain. Fill other part of the sink with few inches of water. Take plunger and keep plunge it many times.

2. If this doesn't help, you will need to remove the P-trap and clean it. Also, clean the T that joins two sink drains. There is a partition, a narrow passage, where food from garbage disposer get lodged.

3. If the above doesn't help, then you will have to snake your kitchen line. You may have a clean out under the sink. If negative, than you have to insert 1/4" or 3/8" snake through sink drain opening.

Tom, the top dog Expert here, usually comes here early in the AM. He has good drawing showing how to insert the snake.

Thank you very much. I have already tried the rag, plunger thing and we just put all new pipes under the sink. We just moved in. I will snake in the morning. Again thank you

Sounds like you have a clog in the horizontal line in the wall. To clear it you must remove the "J" bend from the trap and run a snake up into the wall,(see image).
You will hit a bend about 8 inches in but once around that you only have to put out 6 feet more of cable. Flush with a sink full of hot water. Good luck, Tom
