How old do you have to be to move out of your parents house? I live in Manitoba, Canada if that helps. I've heard it's 16, but I've also heard that the age is 18.

I also think it's important to mention that I am 14 right now. Turning 15 in December. I am getting a job and I do feel like I would be able to support myself. My friend will also be moving out with me, we are having similar problems at home. I have talked to my mom about this before, she thinks I can't do it, but she just wants me to stay home and take care of her kids like I always do. Living by myself would overall be a lot better and healthier for myself. I have thought this through, a lot and I'm not just going to move out because I'm mad at my mother.

Generally its 18. But you might be able to get yourself emancipated at an earlier age. To be emancipated you have to prove that you can support yourself, pay rent, buy food etc.

While you may have thought this through, I don't think you understand what this entails. You will still need to go to school, that will cut into your ability to work. You will need to be able to pay rent for an apartment. You will need to afford food and to show you can prepare proper meals.

So you will need to prepare a budget and see if you can afford it with your job.

While you may not be doing this just because you are mad at your mother, you are probably doing it because you feel constrained and used by your parents. That may not be enough to convince a judge to emancipate you.
