Hello I got some awfully light blonde highlights yesterday, 2 huge chunks on my sides and my whole back is blonde blonde. It's too much for my skin tone. I just don't look right. I have had dark blonde hair before. I'm wondering if I can just buy a dark blonde hair dye and dye over the really bright ones or will this damage my hair. I was going to try a really light brown, but I heard it would turn green. Does anyone got an idea? Thank you.

Highlights should never be more than 2 shades lighter than the rest of your hair. Highlights should compliment your natural or artificial color. If you go more than 3 shades lighter then the rest of your hair color, it will end up looking unnatural. You may use a permanent color over your highlights to tone it down, but try to choose a color that's a shade or two darker than your highlights. You can also ask your hairstylist about lowlights, which are slightly darker shades that add contrast to your overall color.

Thanks. I'll try that.
