Ok, so I bought a snowmobile and the financing was set up with GE financing. I paid this off (or so I thought) in MAY. I just checked my credit report and it has my balance at $156 dollars, over 60 days overdue. I am pissed. I value my credit and it is important to me in my business. I was quite sure I had paid in full (why would I pay off 7500 to leave 150?), and I never received any notification of this! They may have had an obselete address, but still no phone call. I will be contacting the company tomorrow, and I was wondering if anyone knew what kind of recourse I might have against this company? I'm happy to pay the 156 dollars (though I'm not sure I owe it) but I want my credit reports restored!! No adverse acounts. Does anyone know if this is possible/ what I can do?

Well of course what you "should" have done was send a letter with the last payment and call them a week after that for a statement of paid.

If you had not given them a current address, I would ask why, but if they had a old address if they sent bills there, there is little you can do.

But you can ask for things to be cleared up,
