I need to simplify this expression:

2(n-4)+3

When there is a number next to brackets it means multiply the outside number by what is inside the brackets, so...

If you didn't understand what colbtech said, multiply 'n' by 2 which is in front of the brackets, then '-4' by 2. For example,

10(x-2)

{10}\times{x} + {10}\times{-2}

10x - 20

I think d answer is 2n-5.. :D I'm not sure.

2(n-4) + 3
Multiply the outside number into the parenthesis.
2n -8 +3
2n -5.
