I posted before about wanting to dye my bleach blonde hair. Ive decided to let it grow out and get healthy again. My question is, is there ANY color that I could dye my hair that would be close to my root color (dark brown/reddish brown) that would make it LESS obvious that I'm growing my roots out? Please give me any help you can asap.:)

Have you tried a semi perm colour?

No not yet, I'm afraid if I do it will turn a funky color. Recommend anything?

I've only ever tried Wella's colour fresh. That is a true semi.
I've noticed many so called semi colours in beauty shops, but you have to mix it with a low strength peroxide. These are not semis, they are demi (quazi colour) permanent. A true semi is just a colour where you don't mix it with anything.
But I think Demi permanents are great too! They're not as harsh as permanents. And it gives the hair a nice shine.

Also, purchase a temporary red colour. Apply it to dry hair, then dry it in with a hairdryer. After that, apply the semi brown colour.
The reason you have to apply the red is to avoid your hair from getting a green cast which is what you'd get if you go from light to dark.

I've NEVER done my hair myself so ill be kind of nervous lol. So what you're saying is to get a red semi perm. Color, apply it to my dry hair, dry it with a hair dryer... and then apply the semi perm. Brown color as directed on the box? And if I do that, It shouldn't turn my hair funky colors?

If you're nervous, perhaps get it done from a professional. :)

Yes, you do it that way. If you just apply a dark colour on top of blonde hair, your hair will form a green unwanted cast.
When choosing the brown colour, don't get a dark brown shade, buy a lighter one as dark brown shades tend to make your hair look black.

Do you think there is any chance of it completely washing out since my hair is bleach blonde

It could do. Depends what condition your hair is in. f your hair is porous, the colour will probably stick onto the hair longer than it should. Do you want the colour to last or wash out?

If it looks good I want it to last lol. But either way I suppose I could always re apply. I just want it to be close to my root color so that I can grow my hair out without it being so noticeable. Right now its bleach blonde with brown/redish roots and it looks bad you know. And I really want to give my hair a fresh start so I want to dye it and then let it grow out

For choosing color for hair. Then have to be confident and also consult with hair color specialist. They would suggest a good color with suits of your personality.

Loreal.com has color matching. You can pick the color closest to your roots and then they will tell you what color to use. Colorspa is the best, its not harsh, its lasts a few months, and it fades the same shade instead of fading weirdly like Clairol. GL
