The question is ''What is the Word of God''?
Is it His voice , His words coming out of His mouth , or is it something more?

Jesus is the Word..
If an individual believes in Christ Jesus they recognize that all that is written, was recorded and witnessed. They choose by the witness testimony, and in the power of God's creative inspiration to assure what is written in scripture is Truth.
Revelation 19:13 And He was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God.
Revelation 19:16 And He hath on His vesture and on His thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.
Choice of the mind, heart and soul.

"God's word" is a lot more than what we think of a "words".
It is power in many senses.
BY HIS WORD:
God created the heavens and the earth,
He judges good and evil,
He condemns evildoers and redeems those who repent and turn to Him,
He brings into existence every good thing,
He restores His good image in those who seek Him.

When people refer to "God's Word" they are usually referring to the 4 books of the New Testament that we know as "the gospel". They are Matthew, Mark, Luke and John. There is a general belief that God's word was written through these four men.

I'm not trying to debate the validity of the Bible or discuss my personal beliefs - I'm just answering the OP's question.

Doubting God's Love and His message of love is to blaspheme
1 John 3:23 And this is His commandment, That we should believe on the name of His Son Jesus Christ, and love one another, as He gave us commandment.
1 John 3:24 And he that keepeth His commandments dwelleth in Him, and He in him. And hereby we know that He abideth in us, by the Spirit which He hath given us.
Behaviour of holiness: teaching love, respect, and obedience. A child of God loves Our Father, and the Father loves His children.
Titus 2:1-8 But speak thou the things which become sound doctrine: That the aged men be sober, grave, temperate, sound in faith, in charity, in patience. The aged women likewise, that they be in behaviour as becometh holiness, not false accusers, not given too much wine, teachers of good things; That they may teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children, To be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed. Young men likewise exhort to be sober minded. In all things shewing thyself a pattern of good works: in doctrine [shewing] uncorruptness, gravity, sincerity, Sound speech, that cannot be condemned; that he that is of the contrary part may be ashamed, having no evil thing to say of you.

Yes, I believe it's the words coming out of his mouth. He's alive, and is able to speak to us. He's also spirit, so he's able to be inside of us working through our thoughts. But the way he teaches us can be through anything. So his word is important, but so also is whatever he's trying to tell us. I wouldn't limit god to just a voice. Scripture is the bible, and the writers even refer to the scripture of the old testament. But when paul was stopped on the road to damascus, there was no scripture, but a definite voice. Again, he's living, the bible is paper and text, but god can relate his plans to us in any way, even through cirucmstances, like coincidences.

I have never heard anyone limit it to the 4 gospels. 2 Tim 3:16 indicates that all scripture (all 6 books of the Bible) were inspired by God.

Thank you all for replying .
Here's what I believe!
It is written'' In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.'' My question is , does God have a beginning? No , He does not , He made time so He has no beginning. But it says that the Word was God!
Let me ask something else.. Does God have a shape, an image? If say that He does then I would be limitting Him and that's not wise because God has no limits of any kind. But God wanted to create a human being that would be in His image , so if He has no image then what would that human being look like?
God has to give Himself a shape , an image and that's how he gave birth to the Word.
It is written''All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.''Who is John talking about here? He's talkinhg about The Word! The Word made all things.
Does God give birth? It is written that both man and woman are made in His image so yes , God gives birth! And whatever God gives birth to, cannot be something less than God just like humans give birth to humans and dogs give birth to dogs. How was The Word born? It is written that for all those things that we cannot understand , nature is our example.
''21 And the LORD God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam, and he slept: and he took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh instead thereof;
''22 And the rib, which the LORD God had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man.
23 And Adam said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man.
24 Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh.
In a way that's how The Word was also born , or taken out of God , 'cause someone does not have to come out of a woman's legs to be born.My son was taken out of my wife's belly , but I assure you he is born!
So Man and Woman were ONE FLESH , and that's exactly what God and The Word are. They are ONE ! Man and Woman are one flesh and God and The Word are ONE GOD!
The Word is God's image and ''All things were made by him'' , He , The Word made us humans in His image , the image of His unseen Father , God!
''14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us,'' The Word became the person that we call Jesus Christ.
''5 Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:
6 Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God:
7 But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men:
8 And BEING FOUND in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.''
That's how I see it!
Thank you for your time!

First of all The Word of God is his voice. Second it is also his expressed will. Third, it is his chief spokesman Christ Jesus as he reveals to others what God's will is. The Word of God can also be found in the book we fondly call the Bible. The word of God is always truth. (John 17:17)

According to Jewish tradition, the Word of God was the Messiah.
“The Word in Hebrew is dabar. In the Targums, which are ancient Aramaic translations or paraphrases of the Old Testament, it was translated as mimra. The Targums, which pre-date the Talmud, give us some insight into how the ancient synagogue understood the concept.” http://www.messianicgoodnews.org/rabbis/theword.htm
“The ancient Jewish Aramaic translation of Genesis 1:1, as found in “Targum Neofiti” which dates before Yeshua was born reads as follows: “In the beginning, with wisdom, the Son and Memra of the Lord, created and perfected the heavens and the earth.” http://yeshuatyisrael.com/life002.htm
The Word of God appeared before Abraham in a vision:
Genesis 15:1-6 1After these things the word of the LORD came unto Abram in a vision, saying, Fear not, Abram: I am thy shield, and thy exceeding great reward. 2And Abram said, Lord GOD, what wilt thou give me, seeing I go childless, and the steward of my house is this Eliezer of Damascus? 3And Abram said, Behold, to me thou hast given no seed: and, lo, one born in my house is mine heir. 4And, behold, the word of the LORD came unto him, saying, This shall not be thine heir; but he that shall come forth out of thine own bowels shall be thine heir. 5And he brought him forth abroad, and said, Look now toward heaven, and tell the stars, if thou be able to number them: and he said unto him, So shall thy seed be. 6And he believed in the LORD; and he counted it to him for righteousness.
The Rabbis considered the Messiah to be the creator of the world.
Psalm 33:6 By the word of the LORD were the heavens made; and all the host of them by the breath of his mouth.
The New Testament confirms the Jewish concept of the Word of God.
John 1:1-3 1In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2The same was in the beginning with God. 3All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.
