I don't know if anybody can help here, but I took some photos of my kids skiing for the first time with a JVC Everio hard disk camcorder, but cannot read them.
I have taken photos with it before, and it has worked, but that was on the hard drive.
I have taken pictures on the insertable SD card before and they have also worked, but not this time.
When I try to view it on the camera, all I get is a big question mark and the size says 0X0.
I copied it onto the computer and I checked the file sizes, they are different and it says that the file type is JPEG image.
The video works fine, (except for the shaky hand), but I would really like to get these photos if that is possible as the only other photos were taken with an old camera that didn't work properly either.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

How did you copy the files from the camera to your computer? Did you connect the camera to the computer, or did you take the card out of the camera and put it in a card reader, and then upload the files to your computer that way?

Did you use Windows Explorer to manually find/copy the files, or did you use software that does it automatically? If it was done automatically, do you know what software program was used - was it a Windows program, or was it software that came with your camera?

(If you are using a Mac, same questions apply, substitute Finder for Explorer.)

The file sizes should not be different. DO NOT TAKE ANY MORE IMAGES WITH THIS CARD until you find out if you can recover the files from the card.

What type of computer (Windows Vista, Windows XP, Mac OS X 10.5, etc.) do you have?

I tried it both ways, with a windows program and a card reader, ( on the printer), the funny thing is, on the camera I can't read it either, but when I put them on the computer, and check properties, it shows the different size files, e.g.. 339KB or 384KB etc. so it seems that there is some type of image there as it calls it a JPEG image file.
Your right about not using the card until I determine the problem though, I am using XP and haven't had any problems before.

Maybe the card was damaged. You can replace your card and try again.

ddeef, perhaps your right, I just wanted to see if I could retrieve the photos.
