Hi, yogiritz!

Greetings and WELCOME to the site! I just moved your question that you had posted in Introductions to this topic area so that it would get the most exposure to those who are best able to answer it. Introductions is for people to introduce themselves and we try to not ask questions there.

We would appreciate it if you would return to Introductions sometime to tell us a little about yourself though, if you would be willing to do that.

Concerning your question though, if you bought this computer from someone, did you try it out with the seller present before you purchased it? Because, if you had, I would presume that any issues such as passwords would have been brought to light and clarified then.

Thanks!

Many Toshiba laptops will bypass the BIOS password if you hold down the LEFT SHIFT key while it is booting.

Warning: Some BIOS configurations will lock you out of the system completely if you type in an incorrect password more than 3 times. Read your manufacturers documentation for the BIOS setting before you begin typing in passwords.

Your first stop should be Toshiba tech support.

Does your laptop have a parallel port for an old-style printer?
