Hi,
I have a round ball. It is 22" round. It has many these little arms coming out of the ball. There must be 200 or more spike like arms extending out of the ball. Is there a way I can figure out the number of little spike like arms with out counting each one.
Thanks
Elster:)

It depends on the pattern in which the arms are arranged. The easiest way is to use any symmetry to your advantage, so you count a small area and see how many of those areas there are. I can't really suggest much more without knowing the pattern.

Thank you for the answer you gave. I counted the spikes at the very top of the ball. There is a lot more going down the ball each lines has more. There is 20 spikes at the very top and there is 20 at the very bottom. The ball is 22" round the middle.
