When doctors ask when your last period was, do they want to know your last NORMAL period?

My last period was July 10th... it was 4 days early and light (from start to finish), whereas my NORMAL periods start really heavy and then just lighten up as the week goes by. It still lasted the full week... is that considered a non-normal period?

Based on that date (July 10, 2008), which is what I told the doctor, they gave me a due date of April 15, 2009. That makes my just over 2 months.

Here's the thing... I am already starting to show. All the pictures I have seen and everyone that I have known that has been/is pregnant... has been this size at 3-4 months.

The only TRUE way to tell how far along I am is to have a sonogram done, and have them measure the baby right?

Yes, when you go to the doctor's office they will do an ultrasound and the doctor will tell you how far along you are.

Keep in mind, even with an ultrasound it is not an exact science. Very few women give birth on their due dates... you will still have a window of time before and after the date you are given that is perfectly normal to give birth in. The last menstrual period is merely a starting place and the ultrasound will likely adjust it a bit from there.

I have to agree with Doula here. As of today's date, you would be 9weeks and 2 days.

Also, consider your size, are you small? And we don't know the tilt of your uterus, which could be making you show earlier than other women.

With a LMP of July 10, I too calculate your due date to be April 15, however, you could go as early as April 1 and I would not stop your labor, but would not allow you to go past April 17.
