My friend has been charged with robbery by force & it's her first time ever getting in trouble with the law. Could you please explain the 1st time felony law?

Well, there ISN'T such a law. Different states classify the laws in their states differently. Depending on what the prosecutor finally charges her with, she could get probation or she could spend some time in prison. The sentence she received is dependent on MANY factors that are too lengthy for me to ask for them and too lengthy for you to list. It wouldn't matter anyway, because I'm not the judge.

If your friend wants the BEST outcome, your friend should hire the best criminal attorney she can afford, and should NOT talk to the cops.
