Hi,
I have so many questions in mind about Islam. Let me put one by one. I am not a muslim , so you should bear with me. I am not offending anyone here just clarifying my doubts. Why prophet mohammad started preaching at the age of mid 30's or 40's ? What were people doing before that ? Why Islam started only in the desert area ? What happened to the rest of the world and people prior to Islam? Are they not following religion before ?

Once I got answers to these I will post other questions ?

Based on my vague memory, Even Jesus Christ preached on his teens and died before 40 years old. Age has no bearing.

Islam is lead by Mohammed and he lives in a dessert. That's why it started there.

According to the Bible, when Abraham fathered to Ismael, half brother of Isaac to Sarah, Ismael went to the east upon request. Ismael is then concluded started the eastern race.

Before christianity or other religion, people are animist. They worship trees, nature etc

Thanks for responding. You are saying that there is no religion at all before christianity. Who said to you that there is no religion at all. You are saying that people used to worshipped trees , nature etc ? Why Islam didn't originate at that time when they are not doing right thing in first place ? Do you know about the aryans where they used to have rich traditional culture that has been derived from ancient Vedas in the land of Indian territory ? Were they all foolish to follow the tradition what they have got ?

Ok on Christianity, it started at the time of Christ, before that the people who Christ came from where the Hewbrew nation and what we determine Jewish. For them and their teachings it goes back to the start of the human race.

There were many other religions, that of the Egyptions, river gods, moon gods, sun gods and 1000's of other gods.

I will also say this, your original posts sounds like you have little knowledge but then you came back with the aryans and their culture it sounds like you may already know a lot about this. If this was some attempt at starting a negative posts toward Islam it will not be allowed,

It started at that time and place because according to their teachings that is when and where God came to them and gave them the teachings of Isam and allowed the Quran to be written.

Before Islam, there was still Christianity and Judaism.

There were approx 124,000 (I think) prophets sent down to earth at different times and locations. But only 25 are mentioned in the holy Quran.

religionfreak,

Muslims do not consider Islam to have originated with Muhammad (pbuh).Islam (or submission to the One Almighty) goes back to the first man Adam(alaihi salaam).

So from Abraham till Muhammad, including Noah,Moses,Jesus(peace be upon them all),all of them are considered Prophets/Messengers sent with the same message of monotheism.

Muslims do believe in the revelations sent to all other Prophets/Messengers,but we only follow the last revelation, the Quran.

It is only the interpretation of those who do not believe or follow the Islamic path, that say that Muhammad(pbuh) is the founder of Islam, muslims do not follow this line of thought.

Qur'an 2:136
"Say (O Muslims), "We believe in Allâh and that which has been sent down to us and that which has been sent down to Ibrâhim (Abraham), Ismâ'il (Ishmael), Ishâque (Isaac), Ya'qûb (Jacob), and to Al-Asbât [the twelve sons of Ya'qûb (Jacob)], and that which has been given to Mûsa (Moses) and 'Iesa (Jesus), and that which has been given to the Prophets from their Lord. We make no distinction between any of them, and to Him we have submitted (in Islâm)."

Qur'an 49:13
"O mankind! We created you from a single (pair) of a male and a female, and made you into nations and tribes, that ye may know each other (not that ye may despise (each other). Verily the most honoured of you in the sight of Allah is (he who is) the most righteous of you. And Allah has full knowledge and is well acquainted (with all things). "
