How would I go about alerting the authorities (anonymously) that someone is not registered as a sex offender when they are required to be?

Just call your local County Sheriff's Office and they will be on him quicker than you think. We had something like that happen here in my neighborhood and the deputies came to his house in a FLASH! This could hopefully save some child from being molested or worse. Do it soon. By law the offender has 24 hours to notify the authorities of their new residence.

It's not in my area. He's been out of jail for 6 years and has not yet registered.

Incredible. 6 years and has not registered yet. Something is very wrong with that picture. Call the police where he is now residing and discuss with them. They will be MOST interested in this individual.

Is there a way I can submit a form or something online? Perhaps email the poilce? I know this sounds silly. But he knows who I am, and I want to remain COMPLETELY anonymous.

No, not that I can find.

You are aware, I think, that there is no such thing as anonymous on line. IPs are traced all the time - if anyone cares enough to do so.

Typically no there is not, but most states have a program (most states call it Crime Stoppers), where you can call in anonymously and, if the perpetrator is caught and convicted, the anonymous person gets a reward.

I did this years ago when I knew of a dude selling children at my son's school lickable stickers that had LSD on the stickers. I gave a false name and an award of $200.

Darn, the reason I ask is because this is my home town. I know 90% of the Police station, as I have a very distinctive accent I know if I call they will know who it is. And this person is a family member.

There would be nothing to scared of if this was a complete stranger. He's family. I'm going to send an email tonight, and call on Monday.
