I don`t know how to word this or even if I could have any success w/the court system...

We got together when he was going through divorce & I had just started dealing w/my daughters father in courts,so we were both needy.
I moved in after a few months(we kind of grew up in the same place & dated as teens)& right off the bat I helped w/his kids every time he had them. I`ve been a homemaker(staying home instead of working) most of the time.(the last job I had ,right after I started he took a voluntary layoff.) He`s a Union Carpenter,he makes almost $40 an hour,I don`t have any skills per se. After awhile it was just a given that I`d stay home & take care of things here.(doing the bills, cooking, cleaning, making appts. & such)

Here`s my question... even though there is no common law marriage in my state(Indiana) after 18 years of taking care of him & his kids(now 22 & 24)he wants to kick me out w/o a penny, don`t I deserve something in return?(palimony?) I'm not asking for him to support me but to help me get restarted.(He clears $1000 a week.)

Well he can't just kick you out but you won't be getting alimoney either because you were never married. He will have to file a formal eveiction because you have declaired that to be your residence (done with a length of time at the same residence).

You need to contact a lawyer who can tell you what rights you have in your state.

You definitely can't be kicked out of the house, but if the house (or the lease) is not in your name (at least partially), you can be evicted.
