the tangent of x is the oppposite over the adjacent.

opposite = 30

adjacent = 5.2

tan(x)=30/5.2 ( wich is 5.769 )

and this is where I stop

how do I solve for x in :

tan(x) = 5.769

please and thank you

p.s. what is atan

perform atan on both sides:

atan(tan(x)) = atan(5.769)
x = atan(5.769)

atan might be tan^{-1} on your calculator
