I have a Moen bathtub fixturies that I want to replace, I have a standard Moen valve. I want to keep the existing valve only repalcing the trim. Can I use any of the trim kits or sets from hardware stores or do I have to stick with MOEN. The screws are located at the 5 and 7 clock positions on the plate behind the pull out and turn handle. Thanks

You are wise to keep that old valve since its guaranteed for life. A trim kit is all you need but I'd recommend sticking with Moen's trim kits. A bit more expensive but a lot more quality, customer support and you know it will fit. Moen, buy it for looks, buy it for life!

Yes! Moen makes a Remodel Plate,(see image) that replaces your old face plate and converts a two handled valve to one handled one. **or** you could go for the entire Moen Trim Kit, (see image). Your choice, Tom
