View Full Version : Are these signs of pregnancy.

My husband and I are trying to get pregnant. I used and ovulation predictor kit and found that I was ovulating the weekend of August 22nd. We had intercourse Aug, 14,16,17,18,19,20,21,22,23,24,& 25th. Light spotting began on September 1st, which is the day my period normally would have started also. My periods are normally VERY heavy, but I only used a pantiliner for 5 days, but then, on Sep 6th and 7th it has become very heavy, where I have to use a tampon. I only ovulated 2 weeks ago, so feel it's to early for a pregnancy test to be positive, but I used one anyway and it was negative. Is there a chance I am pregnant and when should I used a pregnancy test to make sure. Thank you so much!

Research shows that the first appearance of HCG (implantation) occurs 6-12 days after ovulation, with 84% of the pregnancies implanting on days 8-10 after ovulation.
If you don't get a positive pregnancy test, it doesn't necessarily mean that you are not pregnant. It could be that you ovulated later than you thought (meaning that conception and subsequent hCG production didn't happen as when you expected) or that, for you, implantation took longer than the average.
Your period arriving is a sign that you are not pregnant this cycle.

Soo... I'm still bleeding. My period should have finished on Sunday. It's not heavy... I'm still only wearing pantiliners. Should I see my Dr. or could it be something simple? Thank you!

I read in a magizine awhile back and it stated that you have a higher chance getting p.g the 14th day from the day your period began!!

Unfortunately, while this may hold true for some women, for many others it doesn't. The 14 day rule is a hold over from the idea that women will ovulate midcycle and the average cycle is 28 days. However, plenty of women ovulate sooner or later than exactly midcycle and also do not have a 28 day cycle.
It can give a starting place, but certainly it would be wise to use other means to try and get a better idea of when you are most likely fertile, as focusing too much on just one day, or even just a few days, each cycle can cause some women to miss ovulation altogether.

Is your period a smeary type like only when you go to the bathroom when you wipe ? You could be trying to miscarry or it could be that your not pregnant. Depends on how much you are bleeding.

It is light spotting, but more when I wipe. Not bleeding a lot, though.

If I were you I'd go to the doctor it sounds like your trying to miscarry or you might have already did. To be sure you would have to go to the doctor. Hope this helps... Take Care God Bless

Could be from pregnancy... maybe give it another week and try another test. Some women will bleed in early pregnancy for a number of reasons, sometimes even thinking it is their regular period. As Eaglesflying said, might be an early miscarriage, most of which go unnoticed... might be an off period, might be partly due to implantation bleeding, might be due to shifts in hormones.
