Well, you're going to get served because they know where you are.

The Statute in Georgia is 6 years. That's six years since the last activity on the account - a payment, use of the card. They are probably acting now because the Statute is running out.

Inability to pay is not a defense - they will attempt to get a judgment against you and then use any legal means to collect on it.

And, yes, you can be served in Florida for a Georgia debt.

Best case scenario... you do nothing, they can't serve you and the case never moves forward.

Worst case scenario... you do nothing, they "serve" you at your "last known address" (which is sufficient for some types of cases), you never know, you never show up to court, you have a default judgement entered against you, it goes on your credit, they garnish your wages, etc to satisfy debt.

Do you have an old credit card debt that you owe? Have you pulled your credit lately? The credit card companies can be pretty tenacious, so my guess would be that they'll eventually track you down. You either need to dispute the debt, if it's not valid. Or make payment arrangements. If you attempt to make arrangements they'll need your current address and contact info, and they may not wait around for "arrangements", they may just still sue you, so it's kind of a catch 22.
