We turn on our water and it turns on full force. After about 5 seconds, it slows to 1/2 the pressure(both cold and hot). What do I do to troubleshoot this?

How old is your house? What material are the pipes? Plastic, galvanized or copper? City water or a well? Did this just happen or has it been a problem for some time? Let me know, Tom
