My boyfriend and I have been trying to get pregnant for about 2 1/2 weeks. I understand that it takes some couples months and months to conceive. We've been having unprotected sex on average about twice a day and I thought I was pregnant because I had dizzy spells, I was frequently tired and had cramps which I believed was from the implantation because I've never had cramps before in my life. My period is at least a week late but I've taken four pregnancy test and they've all read negative. How could I not be pregnant, or am I, if so when will I find out, and if not, where is my period? Its regular and never off schedule...

I think at this point you need to go to a doctor and find out for sure. I never had a baby yet, and I want to too, me and my husband are trying also and have been for 5 months. I was talking to my sister and others and the most percent I got was between 4-8 months to conceive, but if your period hasn't come yet you might want to get checked out. Some women don't a high enough of the pregnancy hormone to use the HPT... Also, my sister has a heart shaped uterus and is pregnant on one side but not on the other, she as well had the same issue, until she got a ultrasound. She was 4months before she knew.

Oh my goodness girl! You have been trying for 2 1/2 weeks ONLY and you aren't pregnant yet?

Did you know that it takes the average couple up to a year or more of actively trying to become pregnant?

Another fact is that having sex multiple times a day actually lowers your chances of pregnancy. Every other day is better.

Also it takes at least a week for the sperm to travel up the vagina, through the uterus, up the fallopian tubes where the egg is fertilized, then back down through the fallopian tubes and into the uterus where implantation occurs. Implantation is complete in about a week.

So, even if you were pregnant, it is too soon for signs/symptoms of pregnancy.

You can be late for numerous reasons... just one being the stress of trying to become pregnant.

I have to ask how old you are, are you financially, mentally, and emotionally ready to be a parent and possibly a single parent?
