I re-married and have 2 children who I do not get support for. The father does not contact or is not involved at all with children. The father is a little "unstable" to say the least. Should I file "child abandonment" or go after him for support??

Where are you? In most states you can not file "abandonment" that is a term used as grounds for something else like a divorce or TPR (which aren't granted in most situations). Your best bet will be to go to court for support. How old are the children?

I believe that if you know where the father is and actually even if you don't you should go for support. Your children deserve to see and benefit from the support of both parents. Even if you don't need the money, put it aside for your children in the future. It may not be much, but it will be worth it.

I agree with Msmewiththat, even though you're remarried that doesn't mean that you can fiancial support from their father. He owes them that and they deserve that. That what child support is about. Have you and your husband talk about him adopting your kids?
