There was this cool dance song called something like "You are my shining star" sung by a big-heavy set black singer but I don't recall his name. Anyone Anyone?

Hello: I have some albums by Earth, Wind and Fire, and, to me, their song
With that title, "Shining Star," isn't very easy to dance to.
I have another record from a group called the "Manhattans," and their
Song, "You Are My Shining Star," is a slow, lovey-dovey type song,
Good for slow dancing. Just in case that is the one you were referring to
Here are its lyrics: Manhattans - Shining Star LYRICS (http://www.lyricsdownload.com/manhattans-shining-star-lyrics.html)
The Manhattans
Honey, you are my shining star
Don't you go away
Want to be right here where you are
Until my dying day
So many have tried, tried to find
A love like yours and mine
Girl, don't you realize
How you hypnotize?
Make me, love you more each time
Honey I'll never leave you lonely
Give my love to you only
To you only, to you on - ly
Honey, you are my shining star.
Don't you go away.
Want to be right here where you are
Until my dying day.
Feels so good when we're lying here next to each other,
Lost in love.
Baby, when we touch, love you so much.
You're all I ever dreamed of.
Honey I'll never leave you lonely;
Give my love to you only,
To you only, to you only.
Honey, you are my shining star.
Don't you go away.
Want to be right here where you are
Until my dying day
