I have a Weedeater LT 7000 that the starter pulley broke so I ordered a new pulley and spring. How do you get the spring into the housing without it coming unraveled?

It'll take a few tries to do it... sometimes I put the spring in, hook it to the pulley (after wrapping and taping the string in place) and wind it up using the pulley and while holding it, pop the string out the hole and tie a knot or the handle on it.

Thanks. I have not tried it yet(wanted to wait for a response first) but I think I got it figured out. I'll have to hold the housing upside down and put the spring in so it doesn't slip out of it's little housing and then put the pulley on. I'll let you know how it went.

Sorry I took so long to get back. Everything went as planned and I'm now wacking away at the weeds again. The spring/housing slipped in as I mentioned and since there is a small slot on top of the pulley for the rope to come through there was no problem winding the rope onto it.

Thanks again for the responses.

Glad to be of any help I can.
