View Full Version : Hemorrhagic cyst after tubal ligation/ablation

I had an endometrial ablation & tubal ligation January 2006. I haven't had any issues, not even a period since then. Yeah! Then, about 2 weeks ago I wind up in the ER with some crazy pelvic pain. I've recently relocated so I don't have a doctor that I go to of any kind, or that would have been my first choice.
I had a really good doc in the ER who had a really extensive, and really painful, ultrasound done. It ended up being external and interal. It showed a "non-simple" cyst on my left ovary about 5cm in diameter. The US tech asked me if I had endometriosis. I've had a couple of doctors suggest that possibility to me, but I've never had it diagnosed.
I've taken more loretab in the last two weeks than I care to admit to, and I don't have an appointment until 9/11 with an OBGyn. The pain jumped from tolerable to "how much loretab can I savely drive on" last Monday. My big concern is ovarian torsion. I don't want to go to the ER again unless they'll actually do something, and I don't think this little town in Idaho has that kind of staff since they didn't even have access to an OBGyn when I was there last.
My big question is what can I do until the 11th? I know that my chances of having ovarian torsion is higher because of the tubal ligation, but are there precise signs I should look for? I NEVER have fevers, so that's not a sign.

Thanks for any help!

Best bet would be simply to try and take it easy as much as is reasonable until the 11th. The most likely symptoms would be severe lower abdominal pain and being ill. May call and see if there is something else they can have you take for the pain if the Lortab isn't cutting it for you and definitely be checked if the pain continues to be severe, pain meds don't offer any relief, and you start to become ill with vomiting (some liken it to severe food poisioning with localized abdominal pain)
