Hi, I just recently finalized my divorce- July 23- and I've moved to a completely different town. I'm having troubles finding "good" things about this town; it's much smaller than I'm used to. I haven't been able to make any friends, find a good hair dresser, or even a good doctor. I have to accept responsibility for the first one because I'm pretty closed off. I just don't think that I'm ready to put myself out there, and just waiting for somebody to make the first move isn't working. On the good side, rent is a lot less expensive and I'm going to be able to finish my degree in Business Management Administration fairly quickly and for a lot less money.
The biggest problem that I have at the moment- aside from one annoying health issue- is that I am second guessing myself on virtually everything! I don't trust my own judgment or the motives of anyone around me. But I am fairly happy, for the first time in over 8 years. I still have people around me telling me what to do, but they are family and I know that their intentions are good. It still gets to me, but I'm okay with it.
So, that's about it.

First why are you needing to jump into a relationship so fast, and it takes time often for someone to make the "first" move. And to be honest men sometimes are just bad about making a move, what do you do, if we for example passed in the grocrey store, do I stop and say, hey why don't we go for coffee? So often it comes from groups or activities you are doing.

And depending on your age, what is your idea of a "good match" in a small town often that lowers the people to choose from.

Hi, Fly on the wall!

Greetings and WELCOME to the site! Although the thread that you started in Introductions was not really a question, I decided to move it to this topic area because you seem to have some issues with which you need help. Introductions is really only for people to basically introduce themselves and for others to welcome them. I'm sure that you understand.

There are a number of wonderful people on this site who are great at helping people to sort things out in their lives on a personal as well as inter-personal level.

I'm sorry about the difficulties that you are going through! We care about you a lot here!

Please do continue to post! :)

Thanks!
