Long story here. A former girlfriend of mine was pregnant and never told me, just recently she got in contact with me and told me that I had a daughter. I after I took a DNA test I have tired to be a father for the child, but the child's mother doesn't want me to have visition and joint custody. She has told me that she doesn't want child child support, but that she just wanted to tell me that I have a kid. I want to the child to know who her father is and I want her to visit me. The problem is that I live in VA and they live in Fl, but they baby was born in MD on a military base, do I file in MD? And because she never told me she was pregnant am I responsible for back child support? What are the odds the judge would rule in my favor?

Rule in your favor for what?

If you want visitation, you must file in Family Court where the child and mother live. There will be DNA testing ordered, paternity will be established, no question you will get visitation.

You will also be ordered to pay support.

In most States you will not be ordered to pay back support for a child you didn't know existed.

1. You will have the right to file for visitation, You can try and file in your local court, she can fight it and ask for a change in jurisdition if she wants. Most likely you will have to file where she lives but I would try where you live first.

Now you will pay child support, and it is very possible there will be some if not all of the back childsupport payable,
