The pull switch on my ceiling fan broke off and I need to replace it. The switch is a well tec 116997 and has 4 wires. The black wire attaches to the "L" and the purple attaches to the "2". There is also a grey wire and a brown wire that disconnected from the switch when a piece of the plastic broke off (which contained the "1" and "3"). I've ordered a new switch but need to know which numbers these two wires are supposed to connect to.
Thanks in advance for the help.

The most common wiring would be
L - Black, 1 - Grey, 2 - Brown, 3 - Purple
Make sure you have the correct replacement switch.
