Hello! We are having a baby in Easton, PA and would like to know the rating of our hospital. It seems surprisingly hard to find the answer directly when googling the matter (many pay sites, adverts and such; the only ratings seem to be of cardiac care). Anyone know how I can truly find out more?

Thanks, J9. It was helpful, but it was basically a building inspection report. I guess I am just being paranoid about my child being born in a good facility. My wife, you see, is 42 and this is our first child (both). I really want to be sure that they will be the right kind of place to handle this high-risk pregnancy. I am knee-deep in first time father freakout. I hope it gets better...

As a labor and delivery nurse I understand your concern. Now, there were building inspections there, but also where JCAHO came in and did there inspections. This is our governing board who makes all of the rules and regulations for US healthcare.

If I remember correctly, there are 2 hospitals in your county who deliver babies. I researched them both (via the links above) and found that neither of them had any complaints about them, nor did they have any reason to have any corrective action taken.

Have you visited the hospitals? Taken a tour of the L&D and NICU if they have one? This would be my first step. Also, I would not worry so much about the hospital, but is the doctor certified for a high risk delivery?
