We are tearing out an old Jacuzzi and dry walling the area. We want to leave the water there so someone can put in a sink or shower someday, but behind the wall out of site. So is that something I can do, if so what is the best way to do it?

If the pipes behind the wall are copper then your easiest solution will be to shut the water off at the main water supply by the water meter and then drain the pipes of water by opening all sink faucets and then cut the pipes using a copper tubing cutter and then install 2 SHARKBITE END STOPS (see picture below). Sharkbite fittings simply slip over the end of the pipe a known depth and work fantastic. They are sold at home supply stores everywhere (or similar product is).

Then close all faucets and then turn water back on at the main shutoff and then open each faucet individually to purge of air/sediment that may get mixed in by disturbing the water system. Purge through a laundry tub or outside faucet first as these don't have screened aerators that plug pretty easy. Then open all other valves and you should be all set!

Otherwise, you will need to learn how to solder and will need to solder two copper caps in place... ;)... which really isn't that hard and is even easier today as they have really good hand-held torches available(MAPPGAS... see other picture)... if interested in this option just let us know as we can refer you to some good websites regarding this.
