I need to find out if a lien was placed against my home. How did I do that?

We need a little more information here in order to help you the best.

Why do you think that a lien was placed against your home, please? Depending on why, that would help us to help you as far as finding out if one has been filed.

Thanks!

Actually all you need to do is go to your County Recorder's (or your local equivilant)office and ask to view the records for your property. Any records recorded about or against your property should go through them.

In my area, there are separate books (and indexes) for: 1) mortgages (Grantor and Grantee records), 2) tax liens, 3) the General Execution Docket (for judgement liens), and Lis Pendens.

Well, I guess I stand corrected then. Are they not all kept in the same "office"?

No, not corrected, maybe amplified? Probably same office but maybe in more than one location.

Doesn't matter - go to the County Clerk's office and run your name. Some of the info is available on line in some jurisdictions.
