View Full Version : How to heal anal fissure?

I understand that fissures in this area can take weeks to heal, but every time defecation occurs, the old wound is opened again. The only way to avoid reopening the wound is to not defecate and not eat, but it's impossible to avoid eating for weeks.
Does anyone know if there anything that can be done to heal anal fissures and ensure that the problem doesn't come back? Is there some dietary change, lifestyle change, or some kind of medicine or cream that will help the fissure heal and strengthen the tissues so the problem doesn't come back? Thank you for your time.

Hi,
Have you seen a Doctor? This link below has some good information:
http://www.medic8.com/healthguide/articles/analfissure.html
About half of these do not require surgery. You might consider taking a stool softener, such as Medimucel, or the like. Also, the link above above gives some good foods which will help.
If you haven't seen a Doctor, please do.
A Gastroenterologist would be a good specialist to see. I do wish you the best, and good luck.

Fissures and Hemmeroids are very hard to heal! Here are some steps that have really helped me:
1. Before you make a bowel movement, smear Vaseline outside and a little inside your anus.
2. Clean after your bowel movement with Cottenelle Flushable Wipes.
3. After you are clean, use a Tucks Medicated Pad with Witch Hazel. I also found it helpful to put it on the anus and stand up while brushing my teeth leaving the Tucks on for a few minutes before you throw it away.
4. At least once a day, sit in a hot/warm bath with Epsom Salts (1-2 cups depending on how much water you are using).
5. Eat nothing but fruit for breakfast up to Noon.
6. Drink lots of water & juice during the day.
GOOD LUCK!

Good luck to whatever you choose to do, first of all.
There are few things you can do but:
1. learn to relax you muscles
2. sitz bath
3. regular bowel movements

Mine anal fissures used to be horrible till I tried a few things I found online, and that the doctor told me. I went to the doctor about it twice, and he told me the same things.
1. Wipe with baby wipes after bowel movements, or the like.
2. Take a fiber supplement, this will soften the stool, and also make you more regular, preventing constipation and hard stools.
3. After the bowel movements, I apply witch hazel and vaseline around my anus, and a little inside. This aids in healing and keeps the area clean.
4. Lastly, you have to drink a lot of water, and stay away from very sugary things, as the fiber absorbs the water, making the stool softer, and easier to pass.
Fissures take a long time to heal, so if you stick to this religious regimen, then you should kick up the process.
I've healed the fissures on the outside of my anus, and I did have a few relapses after eating horrible junk food, and eating a lot of cheese now, just to heal the ones on the inside. Good luck, and God bless.

I just almost healed my fissure! I have suffered from almost 2 weeks of fissure and has experienced extremely pain during bowel movement and the pain lingers for the whole day after that. Can't sit, can't walk, can't sleep. You just don't dare to eat and poo. But hang on there, there's light at the end of the tunnel! Remember to eat soft diet, drink TONS of water, drink a glass of prune juice everyday (don't overdo it like what I did, I didn't know it's a natural laxative if drank too much), always clean the area with water and do sitz bath religiously a few times everyday (running warm water also can do if you do not have a bath tub), and put on aloe vera (the steriod cream they perscribe is of no use), try your best to lie flat on your chest rather then sitting down (cos you will add pressure to the cracks and hinder their healing). If tired doing so, try walk ard gently & slowly to loosen up your muscles.
If you experienced itchiness after you put on ointments, or aloe vera, rem to wash the area and STOP using whatever you have applied. I got rashes after putting aloe vera for a few days. Try to let the crack heal by itself, it works for me! In a day after stopping the aloe vera, the cracks de-swell and healed by 80%!
Remember to make sure your *** is always clean and dry though. Moisture hinders healing.
Lastly, I tried and proven that when you poo, try your best to shift to a position that won't put pressure to the crack (fissure). For me I have a fissure on the left, so I lift my left leg slightly off the ground (tip toe) and shift my bodyweight to the right when I poo. Then with the help of a stool softener or prune juice, the stools should be easier to pass, and thus won't tear the fissure again, allowing it to heal. Note, DO NOT STRAIN to finish if you can't! It can be due to your piles that gave you the false alarm. Let nature takes its course, walk around and let your digestive flow first. Drink water.
I hope all these tips could help all of you to heal soon. God bless and you'll see light soon!

Im 45 years old... Not trying to sound gross just saying how I developed this anal fissure.I've had this going a year now! All started oneday when I went to use the de toiy... I didn't relize I was constipated and forced a monster turd out, but it got halfway and stopped for a few minutes, (hurt like hell)wasn't the first monster turd I've ever had!so I didn't think much of it,just glad to get it out. Then the next few days after each pooper burned like hell, couldn't sit itchy anal all the time would feel better for aday or two then came another monster turd seem I tore or tare anal again and again... after 6 months of misery,I said this is not right so I read up on it,was the first time I had ever heard on anal fissure.Everything it said not to eat or drink I was doing it... I stop eating spicy foods and drinking alcohol, that alone was a relief.now I eat lots of high fiber cereal, pasta, salads, fruits, veggies burgers... I now drink water and cranberry juice instead of alcohol sucks but it works... I take epson salt baths daily after the pooper and use a soap with aloe only, don't use toilet paper with perfume will drive you nuts, baby wipes or tucks.I feel a lot better but not sure if completely healed yet and might hafta have the anal fissure surgery I hear the more you tare the anal the harder it is to heal... I still sneak the spicy fatty foods every now and then, I get same results monster turds ouch. Lol seroiusly be careful when pooping... anal fissure not something you want to happen esp at in your 40/s plus

I don't recommend vasilne to help past stool ,it will keep anal moist... to avoid monster turds stay away from the fatty foods remember the more you eat the bigger the turds lol... keep anal dry as much as posible it will heal the fissure faster, after a epsom salt bath completely dry anal I use a fan.

Hi Juliagws, I'm not a doctor but only a month ? Takes two weeks or more to heal anal fissure and easy to tear again, main thing is the smaller the stool the better, but easier said than done! I've had it for almost a yr, what exactly are symptoms? Itchy anal, burning, stool in blood ,brown mucus? Are you eating spicy foods or drinking alcohol ? Spicy foods or sweets will irritate the anal and make your life miserable, if really painful make sure its not hemorrhoids.all I can say is eat lots of cereal high in fiber oatmeal, fruits, veggies, water,no spicy foods corn chips anything that will make a monster turd! Get some metamucil drink daily... take epsom salt bath after bowel movements a must then another in the evening, use a soap with aloe avoid toilet paper tucks or baby wipes better... use medicated powder to keep anal dry! Don't sit in chair all day unless you have to... lol I'm sure you can find better answers online I'm still looking myself good luck...

I also suffered from anal fissure it's horrible and like hell on earth.First I had small cut in anal canal but I doesn't care it much because I was touring. Then for 4-5 days I pass hard stool so that small cut becomes fissure. Now I was very worried because when ever I pass stool I was in great pain. The treatment which I followed was
1-at early morning I wrap xylocaine jelly 2% on finger stall and gently insert it on anal opening so that cream spreads on fissure, then I mix two creams pilex and annovateon finger stall and insert it on anal canal.
2-now I took 2 glass of water and wait for pressure to come, after defecation I took sitz bath for 10 minutes.
3-when ever I had urge to defecate I do the procegure no 1
4-i totally change the diet, I take fruits, greenleefy vegetables, two times isabgol, and lot of water
5 -before going to bed I tate liquid paraffin 30 ml
So anal fissures are very dangerous and we had to take lot of care for their healing and it took around 120 days to heal anal fissure of mine

I had a fissure for SIX MONTHS! I tried everything I would read on these blogs, something's would work but only for a couple of days at most. I am delighted to say I have finally healed my fissure!! Drink LOTS of water, rub a pea size amount of zinc oxide (desitin) with a qtip in and around your anus and drink a teaspoon of milanta at night for a couple of days. This healed me almost instantly after six painful months, I was all healed in about three days! Its been two weeks since I had my last painful BM! Highly recommend to give it a shot. Hope this works for you as well as it did for me ;)

I had one for about 2 years and it finely got infected. Hurt like hell!! Infection went away after awhile but I still was left with the fissure. Tried several remedies to cure the fisure but nothing worked. I finely decided to come up with my own remedy. This is how I cured it:
1. For a week or two I would take a shower right after a BM. Wash really good with antibacterial soap. I even wash up inside my anus with soap (did not irritate me but Im sure it may others). I have a detachable shower head so I used it like a bidet for a few minutes with warm water to flush the soap out.
2. After shower I would put Vaseline inside anus.
3. Used fiber
4. drank alots of water
5. stayed away for alcohol
Worked like a charm!!

I think all members are agree on
* Take your meal (FOOD) on regular time (so stooling time can be controlled)
* Drink lot of water
* Soft diets
* After pee anus should be clean by wipes
* Strictly avoid chilli (MIRCH MASLA) it hurts too much when you pee
* Never try hard stooling
* Use sitz bath
* For an emergency you may use xylocaine jelly (or any other paralysing jell)to control pain

After suffering for 3 weeks straight, following is what I did and was PAIN FREE within 4 days and healing well
- Went on liquid diet for 4 days
Morning: Coconut water, 1 cup pro-biotic drink (to help intestine health restoration)
Lunch: Green smoothie that has tons of veggie and fruit source (available in grocery stores under brand names such as Naked, etc)
Dinner: Smoothie
During the day drank tons of water, had Phillips (the brand had to be spot on for me) stool softener, applied Nitroglycerine 0.2% four times a day and between that applied Dr. Wheatgrass skin restoration cream (I totally thought it would be a scam, but desperation has no bounds so tried it and seemed to have worked)

Have the same problem which led me here to this site... and didn't find any info that I didn't already know... but in my quest I found this homeopathic suppository
That did wonders for me... I believe I was on the way to healing when I found these but they seemed to have done the trick in 3 days!
They are called avenoc suppositories by a company called boirin... they are a compound made for hemorrhoids but the lady at the health food store said they are good for any anal tissue problem... they worked amazingly well for me so I thought I might help others by spreading the word . The active herbs listed are
Aesculus hippocastanum, collinsonia canadensis, and hamamelis virginiana. And it is in a base made of cocoa butter

I will always keep some desitin at home now. It only took helped instantly and only took a couple of days to heal. I feel like jumping up and down like a little kid.

I suggest you give Tamanu Oil a try. This amazing oil is a significant (and natural) skin healing agent and the more often it is used the quicker the results. The reason it works is due to its unique ability to promote the formation of new tissue cells, thereby accelerating wound healing and the growth of healthy skin.
You simply apply it topically (directly onto the affected area) using a wipe or pad.
Alternatively, you could just apply Tamanu Butter. It contains 60% pure Tamanu Oil but also has cocoa butter, virgin coconut oil and papaya oil. This will help to not just heal the fissure but will also make passing a bowel motion that much easier. Again, the more you apply it the faster the results.

Hi Friends, I am Kiran 32 had a very bad fissure and suffered 3 months with lot of pain and blood in faces with Gods grace I am able to successfully heal the fissure without operation
1. Don't get panic
2. Take only soft food fruits & vegies
3. Dr.M.G.Rama Rao MS , medwin hospital, hyderabad had given me "CREMA GEL" (diltiazem gel ) to apply before & after bowl moment which is a miracle which will relax the sphincter muscle & allow faces freely & thus the fain & bleeding control & help to heal the wound, It took to me 3 to 4 week to get bleeding control but pain relief came immediately in 3 to 4 days.
5.Also he had given "Natural Stool softeners" to treat constipation & he told wound will get healed by nature & warned not to apply any ointment which will still worsen the situation.
6. After 1 month he asked me store using "Crima Gel" & us on need basics.
7. Also I had taken suggestion from one of my friend who also suffered with fisure to use "Pykure" a Ayurvedic medicine which is miracal which healed my fissure & also I took 20 days "Pykure" tablets along with ointment
Now I am free from fissures & it is more then 3 months I did not get pain or blood
Guys pl. try this & learn to take good fiber food & avoid spicy food which will solve the problem for your life time! All the best

I used the Dr Wheatgrass Recovery Cream and my fissure is almost healed. I've been suffering this horrendous pain for months now. I have tried everything the doctor prescribed to me (nitroglycerin & steroid cream). That helped eased the pain but it did nothing to help me heal. I tried the different oils I can get online but still no help. My doctor recommended surgery and I took his word for it. Then I stumbled across the Dr Wheatgrass products. The testimonials looked very promising. The guy I talked to on phone reassured me that it will help. I figured what the heck.. if it doesn't work, I'm still scheduled for surgery. To make a long story short, when I went back to the doctor for the pre-surgery checkup, he surprised me by telling me that I didn't need the surgery anymore because the fissure is healing. I was so relieved to hear that. I've been using the Dr Wheatgrass Recovery Cream for a little over a month now. Needless to say, it has saved my butt! (pun intended). Go Google it. I ordered from GrassFactor.com:Dr Wheatgrass Supershots, Recovery Cream, Recovery Spray, SuperBalm- Great for Anal Fissure, Eczema, Molluscum, Cancer, and More (http://www.grassfactor.com) in the US. I'm so glad I called them because they really know what they're talking about.

Thank you!! I was worried I had bowel cancer. It's funny though... I ended up in the hospital because of this crap. The dam doctor gave me antibiotics not once but twice that led to me tearing my insides out. The pain I endured was so bad after taking the medication that I was on the toilet, my blood pressure dropped and tingling went all the way up my arm and then all of the sudden it was like a locamotive train exploding in the toilet, first it was a big torpedo that came out and then the diahria. I thought I was a gonner until that happened. After I wiped with toilet paper the paper was filled with blood and in the toilet there was more than usual blood. I was so exhausted after that, that I went to bed and prayed to God that he wouldn't take that night and that I didn't bleed to death. I did consider calling 911 but after the torpedo came out my blood pressure went back to normal. The next day I woke up and had to go again,. I guess it was to get rid of the antibiotics from the previous night or even maybe the other antibiotics the doctor gave me (from the same family) (what a knob)the day before... anyways... I was on the toilet again... the glass feeling was happening and boy did it hurt. After getting through the pain, I wiped again and lots of blood was visual on the paper but then I looked in the toilet and it was filled with blood. I thought that I better go to emergency and on the way I was thinking I didn't do my will yet... that's how scared I was... I thought I bleeding internally (GI bleed) I thought... anyways, the first questions at the hospital were, " Have you ever had a blood transfusion before" and "were hooking you up to the intervenious needle and keeping it in your arm in case we have to do emergency surgery. I thought... WTFrig... Anyways after lying on the hospital bed in emergency for hours the doctor finally came over to me and told me he thought I had a fissure. The doctor tried to do the probe thingy up me bumb but my bumb new better... that those probes don't belong up there... it wasn't until my tears were pouring down my face and my grip was so tight on the hospital rail and oh yes... me yelling... STOP!! That the doctor told me that a specialist will be getting in touch with me. That was over two weeks and believe it or not the original doctor that prescribed not one but two different antibiotics all in the same week because I had a recreaction to the first one... is the one that finally called me today to come in for my results... Do you think I want to go back to him... no wayyyy and that's why I'm so glad I came across this site and heard similar stories of the pain and the glass feeling because that is exactly what I felt. Thank you for putting all of your comments on here... I feel way better now... As for that nasty doc... I won't be going back to him and the next doctor I find I will tell them never to give me any antibiotics that are in the same family as bioxin or erithromyson... You know... since then I have not really eaten that much for fear that I have to have a bowel movement. I'm drinking lots of water or other liquid and oatmeal every morning and very small soft meals for lunch and dinner. I'm actually willing not eat at all and just eat liquid soups and veggie drinks until its' healed because I don't want to go through that again. My butt isn't bleeding anymore but it feels itchy so I'm using baby wipes like someone suggested on here and it feels a lot better and so do I.

I got a tear from constipation and bad diet. VERY SORE and kept me awake so I had to use ICE at night to stop the pain. (1small Pc of ice in a small baggie / it works )
Stop using toilet paper ( rough & chemicals). I sit on the side of the tub and use the hand held sprayer then dry GENTLY. Drink Metamucil ( or Psycillium ) 1 or 2 times a day and LOTS of WATER.
Avoid hot spicy foods & dairy.
Takes 6 to 20 weeks to heal. Good Luck.

I have had fissures for the past two years. They got especially bad lately because I have been sitting so much because of a change in job. I tried stool softeners, epson salt baths, baby wipes, aloe vera, and lots of other things. I finally stumbled upon a forum where someone said to try zinc oxide. Within two weeks I have no pain or itchiness after applying twice a day. I can't believe it! I used a brand called Desitin, the extra strength baby rash cream with 40% zinc oxide. Seriously, anyone with long term pain needs to give this a shot!

I'm almost 50 (didn't realize it until type it now :-). I'm having anus fissure for almost 10 years. My doctor suggested to take metamucil with lots of water, it helped but did not solve the problem.
My anus fissure was so painful and itching that I can't afford. I was listed on the waiting list for the surgeon but it takes a year long. (I'm from Ontario).
So I googled and tried the following method. Now my anus fissure is completed cured.
1) take a few pieces of Ontario Gingseng every day with hot water. The hot water soften it. The taste is good. Gingsen helps to soft the poo.
2) every morning and evening, have a can of hot water, add a teaspoon salt, then sit on it for 5-10 minutes. This will help the blood movement and
3) apply the prescribed Nifedipine 0.3% in xylocaine oint 5% after step 2;
4) take metamucil 2-4 tbs everyday with lots of water.
After 1-2 weeks, it will make significant improvement.

I have been dealing with anal fissure for 2 years now I have had the botox injected too many time to count to relax my rectum so they can heal but now I have the fecal incontinence. The steroidal ointments do not help and they are expensive. My problem is not constipation but diarrhea that keeps tearing my fissures open, OUCH! I have a sit down job so it is very painful for me, I am so frustrated that I am willing to do whatever it takes to get some normalcy back in my life.

Use a spot bandage over the fissure before you need to use the restroom.
It is working for me so far. The pain is no longer unbearable, I am trying to avoid surgery for that one complication the doctors talk about, that you could leak after.
I use the clear bandage, it doesn't hurt to remove on that skin

I have been suffering with anal fissure for last two moths. It started with severe constipation. I have never understand that why I always have a complain of constipation. After getting this all severe and now suffering for anal fissure I realized that it is all connected to our DIET. I want share my view points and how I helped myself to heal it quickly with nothing extra ordinary to do.
First thing is to visit doctor and get an ointment such as Restogesic. I am using it for last three weeks and has also changed my diet to which I will come soon.
This ointment will help the muscle to stay relaxed. You have to apply three times a day and make sure you apply it carefully ( not so hard and fast rules) just make sure you put your finger at 1cm in and the ointment is in. If not you can take little more on the index finger and insert again. Don't worry of overdose it won't happen because I am doing same steps. Also, remember to wipe your area with tissue or light tap wet tissue and clean it. If you leave the ointment outside it will create rashes. Don't worry just clean from outside each time you apply.
Now about diet. There are no strict restrictions to anything. But I have stopped taking grain bread and nuts. Do not take anything which is hard and not soluble. Increase the servings of fruits and vegies in your diet.
I eat two apples a day, one serving of grapes (around 250gm) and have bread which is high in natural fiber. I also have two servings of carrots but not daily usually when available or on alternate days :-) but it's a good raw vegie to create bulk stool (soft). The bread should not have grains or nuts. Now that you have taken all the fiber in, now through out the day drink lot of water. I usually take 3 liters of water. The reason is, fiber absorbs water and keep your bowel movement normal and your stool will be soft naturally. Just drink lot of water.
Through out the period don't panic. Because this takes time and will heal depending on your diet. I also during the shower sometimes make the warm water flow from the area which again ease the muscle and spasm.
You are not alone. It is natural and it happens :-). Just take its time.
Have good diet with fruits and high fiber. If you are having constipation try to take physsllium husk. It moves stool easily.
Finally me being a Muslim also believe that you should spend from your earning for a better cause like helping a poor or needy person. Help someone to have something to eat. Its sometimes just small actions which matters...
You all take care...
When ever you feel hungry during the day eat easily soluble stuff.

Spend some amount in the name of our creator like helping poor person or helping a needy one. And it will heal very soon. We sometimes forget to praise our creator for giving us so many blessings. :-)

Can I have your e-mail address. I have a bunch of chain letters that I need to pass along to heal my anal fissure, bad acne, halitosis, and extreme flatulence.
Please keep faith and faith healing on the religion type boards and not the medical board. While helping the homeless or poor is a commendable act by anyone's definition, it will not heal you. If you're bleeding from your bum, you go to a doctor not a soup-kitchen to help out.

I've had a fissure for probably a couple of decades now, but it's a recurrent one. That is it may heal and disappear for long periods, sometimes lasting to 6-8 months only to re-appear again, sometimes just for a few days, and once a few years - for a few weeks on end. I keep a relatively good healthy diet and normally a regular daily bowel movement, but sometimes slips occur and if your body is tired (like after bad sleep) even a healthy diet won't help the fissure from re-opening again. A few years ago my GP gave me a tube of isosorbide dinitrate, which I apply whenever I have a re-opening again (about 2 times a year). At times I think the fissure has at last healed only for it to re-open again. I have seriously considered surgery but at the same time would have course like to avoid it. At the same time I realize using the cream permanently can cause side effects and the body can develop tolerance for it rendering it a lot less effective. Has anyone had such a case of recurrent fissure and was able to heal it to a degree where it occurs not at all or very rarely (say once a few years, once a decade)?

Hello,
I utlilized this blog when dealing with my own fissure and thought I would contribute to let you all know what worked for me!
First of all, my anal fissure started slowly - initially with pain, then blood and then a lot of both (which is when I started to get nervous). Initially, I just increased the fiber in my diet (more oatmeal, beans, brown rice, lots of H2O, nuts, apples and spinach). This helped with bowel movements, but did not fix the problem. Once I started having bleeding, I saw my primary care doc in the office. She took a look and said the fissure was at the 7 o'clock position (posteriorly) (which is most common) and recommended Sitz baths and prescribed a 2% cortisone cream to insert into anus twice/day. I didn't insert it (kind of messy) but just used topically and the problem continued to worsen. Once I was having extreme pain and bleeding (on Thanksgiving, no heavy food for me!), I called my friend who's dad is a GI doctor and he prescribed me "Anal pram" which is another cream inserted into anus that has 2.5% cortisone (decreases inflammation) and pramoxine, which is an anesthetic.
After speaking to him, I started using this cream (inserting it into anus) twice per day, used Sitz baths morning and night, ate only fibrous foods, dranks tons of water (8 cups/day), and ALSO began taking 1.5 tablespoons of metamucil each morning with my orange juice. Additionally, I bought fragrance free baby wipes to use after BM to decrease tension in that area. After about 1 week of this regimen, I was completely healed - no pain, no blood! I was getting ready to travel in the car for 10 hours to an interview so also purchased a donut pillow for the car ride, and I think this made a difference as well because it still went away despite this long time spent sitting.
Now I have been healed for approx 5 days, but am still using metamucil religiously every morning, and am also avoiding spicy food and alcohol in excess. Hope my regimen works for you!
Anal pram (rx only) (I have no financial incentive, I promise) - twice/day into rectum
Metamucil (or knock-off equivalent) 1.5 tablespoon each morning with OJ
Sitz bath (with or without epsom salt - I did half and half) - twice/day
Baby wipes (fragrance free)
8 cups water/day
Donut pillow for people with desk jobs or long flight/car ride(mine was $15 on amazon)
Fiber-rich diet (soluble and insoluble) - fruit, veggies, beans, nuts, oatmeal, yogurt is good too because of the probiotic (good bacteria) effect though its not that fiber-rich.

I have had an anal fissure for 1.5 years. A lot of people point to fiber for a solution, but for me it actually made things worse as I had a high fiber diet to begin with (lots of whole wheat and veggies). My stools were so big and fast-moving, after it started I was always getting tears and I made the huge mistake of adding more fiber which made things worse—even though I did a lot of self-treatment at home that helped (aloe juice, lots H2O, etc). Also I made the mistake of going to my family doctor who is very old school and gave me cortozoine suppositories.
Finally, I got help from a specialst. She could hardly find the tear (though my family doctor saw it right away 6 months before I started taking aloe). She told me the cortozone supplements actually make it harder to heal as they thin the skin—making it easier to rip. She gave me lidocaine gel and told me to cut down the fiber for a while. I cut out the whole wheat (and NO MORE SUPPLEMENTS). I just stick to soft fresh fruits and veggies (nothing too fibery though) a few times a day—which keep my stools soft but small. I get backed up once in a while, but it sure beats tearing my butt all the time. I used Preparation H wipes at first after each movement to keep things clean, and used the lidocaine before and after each movement.
It's taken a 6 months to heal since seeing the specialist I am now on my 3rd month without a tear so I'm planning to carefully start adding small amounts of fiber back into my diet. I am hoping to avoid ever going through this again, but a lot of folks say once you've had chronic fissures it becomes a life-management type of thing. It's scary, but lots of people have them (no one likes to talk openly, though, so you'd never know ;) ). Hope you are feeling better. Best of luck!

Well fissure has a technical way out and I promise you will get relief from day 1 and complete healing in 1 month.
I)in the night take 4 spoonful cremaffin with hot milk and don't take spicy food.
ii)in morning, for passing painfree stool apply lignocaine hydrochloride 5%gel or cream ,which provides local anaesthesia to the anus and lets you pass stool confidently.put it 5 minutes before going to stool.
iii)after passing stool and cleaning the anus, apply diltiact 2% gel .
iv)after 10 minutes of applying diltiact, sit in hot water tub with salt added in it for 10 minutes.
v)dry the area with clean towel and apply metrogyl gel on anus and keep it applied till next stool passing cycle.
Eating fibre rich food is good.also take anything which smoothens the stool.confidence and patience play a great role.u may loose your gets when there is high stool pressure but your pain is not letting you pass it.application of lignocaine will make it pain free.just try some push and pull inside so that the stool breaks in pieces and passes.smooth stool will pass easily without pain.once you pass the hard stool make sure to keep the stool soft and smooth by taking cremaffin and drinking lot of hot milk and hot water.Repeat the above mentioned cycle twice a day.
I hope it will help.
Thanks

What kind of desitin did u use? & does it numb the area?
I had a fissure for SIX MONTHS! I tried everything I would read on these blogs, somethings would work but only for a couple of days at most. I am delighted to say I have finally healed my fissure!!!

I suffer from anal fissures but have one in particular that I get to heal for it to reopen after a matter of either days or weeks , So I wanted to see if there was advice out there for anal fissures, I have and the creams perscribed by both GP and GI and while they may help with the immediate pain after defication it just keeps occurring , the biggest problem I have found is all the advice seem to be to eat more fibre , nuts , water etc unfortunately for me that IS NOT an option as I have Crohn's Disease which , I have had to have much of my small bowel removed and I have constant diorreaha due to the amount of bowel removed and I also had to have my gall bladder removed which means I cannot absorb my bile salts and therefore I go to the toilet 20 plus times per day I have been perscribed many meds to firm up my bowel movements but nothing works even if the medication reduces the amount of times I have to use the toilet each day it does NOT stop the diorreaha , PLEASE PLEASE if anyone has any suggestions as I cannot stand this for much longer , the only thing that in anyway helps is if I eat nothing , but due to still taking fluids I still have to go to the toilet which means I loose weight quickly and am at risk of severe dehydration and suffer from malabsorbtion and malnutrition PLEASE PLEASE if anyone has any suggestions I would be most grateful . Thank you in advance.

Can someone help me talk about anal fissures and being a gay man? I am taking the procedures to heal my fissure. I have had one before during this past summer and it healed pretty quickly, but now its back. Since first getting the fissure over the summer I have not had anal sex. I fear that even after it heals having anal sex could cause it to come right back. I read through everyone's experience on here and nothing was brought up about it. Does anyone have some insight to this?

One of the problems of having anal sex is that you're, regardless of how relaxed and how prepared you are for it, forcing something big through that sphincter. Preventing it requires a butt load of lube. No pun intended. There is a specific type of lube that specific for Anal Sex. Look into it.
What also might help is talking to your local sex shop employee. They're have good product knowledge and might be able to help you find something that will make anal sex easier.
This might be something you would want to bring up with your doctor as well. Bleeding from the butthole can be dangerous, even if it is only a small amount. There is a lot of bad bacteria around your hole that could cause some really bad infections, regardless of how well you keep your bum clean.
Also if you have any shyness talking about this you should get over it. You will also need to tell your partner to be a little more careful. He can't just ram it in, he kind of needs to 'warm up' your anal sphincter a bit. Start with a finger or two. Then maybe a toy/buttplug. The key is to gently stretch the anal sphincter so that it is a little more relax when he puts his penis in.
I hope that helps a little.
