Obviously in this world there are many things that will offend us, both as Christians and non-Christians.
Here's my question. If you really believe what you say you believe, why would you be so offended by disagreeing beliefs as to shut them down?
I believe in the Bible, in God, in Jesus, in Holy Spirit.

Why don't you clearly state what bothers you?
WHO is shutting WHAT down?

In my opinion, I see no reason to be offended by a respectful challenge to what I believe. I do some public speaking on matters of faith, and usually encourage people to check out what I say to see if it is true. I believe that this is scriptural - Paul encouraged the Bereans likewise in Acts 17:10-11.
In the past I have been wrong in some areas of what I believed and I am thankful to those who did raise such challenges. I believe that is one of the roles of the church - to help keep us all on the straight and narrow and to continue to help each other grow through teaching, encouragement, and yes, challenges and correction (2 Tim 3:16 and others).
If we love truth, then I see no reason to fear it. Challenges get us into God's word. If through a challenge we find that we are wrong, we are now closer to the truth. If we find that we are right, through our study of God's word we are now strengthened in our ability to defend and promote the truth of God's word.
The only issue that I can see would be if someone were to start personal attacks rather than dealing with the issue, but as long as the challenge were respectful, if it were me, I would welcome the challenge, not stop it.

I have had 6 posts deleted in a row trying to find out why other threads in Christianity were closed. Someone got offended by another poster asking them to clarify doctrine and back it up with the Bible. My post was deleted and 5 other posts in forum help and members only were deleted asking why my posts were deleted.
I would repost my original, but I did not make a copy first--my mistake.

We grow by being challenged in what we believe.
Cred, you have challenged many beliefs, but I always come back to show what I believe with the Bible.

Cred, you have challenged many beliefs, but I always come back to show what I beleive with the Bible.
I also always come back to show what I think of things...
And - believe it or not - I appreciate your tenacious approach! You stand for what you believe. Good for you.

Yep, that's why you're convictions can't be changed.
Mine either.

As far as getting posts deleted or threads closed.. I have had that happened too. If you have questions about the reasoning , etc... Why not go to the source?
We are all entitled to state what we believe and even have discussions about it, but all to often it gets too heated or too nasty. As far as Cred, he does not challenge but likes to argue at pretty much every turn, but that is to try to take you off the road your on.
We can disagree with each others beliefs or non beliefs... Have all the discussions you want, but just because they may get erased or closed or taking off, do not take it personally.
I too believe in God, and Jesus Christ, and the Holy Ghost..
Everybody has a different approach on delivering that message but I do believe that each individual can learn from each other, no matter what the circumstances are or each individuals beliefs.

Posts that attack the faith and beleifs of other christians are deleted, Threads where this has been a pattern of posts are closed, One can support their beleifs. But Christian board belongs to all christians, including baptist, methodist, catholic, mormon and other christians, posts attacking their faith and beleifs are always deleted.
No different than in the Islamic board, where attacks agaist Islam faith is deleted and continued attacks have posts closed.
Even in the discussion boards there are limits and closed when they run their life span and become repeating in nature

Thank you for this information. This is what I was looking for.

Still topics and questions here about deletion of posts indicate that there should be some way of informing all people of the reasons for deletion.
There are other Q&A boards where the text of offending posts is replaced with "Post deleted because ......." Perhaps an alternative?
