Years ago I read this book... here is what I remember about it...
A boy (the main character), I believe he comes home one day to find a large package at his house. In the package is a car (not a full size car, more like a pedal car). He ends up on a journey to strange lands. In each land he meets someone with a different problem or task. I remember one character he comes across is moving a Very Large pile of sand, one grain at a time with tweezers. Another is emptying or filling a well with water, one drop at a time. He learns something from each character he comes across. I also think he had to defeat some evil that was causing or making these characters do these things... I'm not sure. The book had some illustrations , black and white if I remember correctly. The cover was blue... and I think the car was red. I wish I could recall more details... I know this isn't much to go on. For years I've been trying to remember the name of this book and try to find it again. I read it probably about 20 , 25 years ago. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
