View Full Version : Why is the New York Times and other liberals attacking Jerome Corsi?

Jerome Corsi, co-author of Unfit For Command, detailing John Kerry's biography, is under attack. He said eariler today that he is receiving death threats, and that The Daily Kos has published his address. "Whatever the weakness of Corsi's arguments, the Times certainly never deployed such aggressive fact-checking to the vast majority of anti-Bush screeds that have come over the transom - indeed, the paper has tended to greet them with open arms and blessed them with favorable notices both in its regular Arts pages and in the influential Sunday Book Review. If the Times does lower itself to review the Corsi book, expect the review to take several weeks to appear and for it to be brazenly hostile." This move by the Slimes does not surprise me at all. BO was also quick to publish a 40 page rebuttal . It's as if he knew in advance what would be written about him. Lol
Anyway any attempt to tie Corsi to the McCain camp will fail . He is not planning on voting for McCain . He was almost a candidate for the Constitution Party and has said he will vote for Chuck Baldwin.

Howard Dean and the DNC "Rapid Response Team" began their offensive against Corsi yesterday:
Steve --
This morning our team here sent this email to a group of dedicated supporters, but I'm sending it to everyone I know.
In 2004, the media let right-wing crackpots like Jerome Corsi spread lies about John Kerry. Now Corsi is publishing another hit piece attacking Barack Obama.
This year I'm drawing the line -- we're not going to let Corsi and the Republicans get away with it again.
Scroll down to check out Corsi's track record of ideologically driven lies and conspiracy theories, then sign up for the DNC Rapid Response Team and help keep these dirty tricks from ruining another election:
The Democratic Party | DNC Rapid Response Team (http://www.democrats.org/rapidresponse)
I hope you'll forward this email to everyone you know, too.
Thanks,
Howard Dean

Subject: A book of lies -- your action urgently needed
Friend --
One of the most vile smear peddlers of the 2004 election has found a new target.
Jerome Corsi just published a new book full of rehashed distortions and the same old lies about Barack Obama, and the right-wing noise machine is in full gear promoting it.
In 2004, Corsi helped launch the Swift Boat smear campaign with a book of distortions and lies he wrote about John Kerry. Corsi was so extreme in his misrepresentations that even other Swift Boat attackers tried to distance themselves from him.
We cannot afford to let Corsi get away with the same dirty tricks that fooled so many people in 2004. We can't rely on the media to hold him accountable -- in fact, the sheer brazenness of the lies is attracting even more coverage. The media have shown that they aren't going to stop him.
It's up to you to spread the truth, so here it is. Below you will find the facts about Corsi and his desperate fabrications.
Read the latest research for yourself (it's almost unbelievable) and get this information to everyone you know who is following this election.
Forward this message to your friends and family or use this online tool to get the truth out:
The Democratic Party | Get the Truth Out About Jerome Corsi (http://www.democrats.org/bookoflies)
Together we'll show Corsi, the Republicans, and John McCain that Barack Obama and the Democrats don't back down from a fight.
Thanks,
DNC Rapid Response Team
They went to great pains to destroy Corsi and link "the Republicans and John McCain." That's how the left plays, anything they perceive as an attack The Messiah will be linked to McCain and Republicans regardless of the facts. Just like here.

Don't you find it convenient that Obama came up with a 40 page rebuttal of the book, almost as soon as it came out?
I wonder how he knew what to try to defend against so quickly?
Hummmm, how could he possibly have known, unless the majority of what was written, actually happened, or was the truth?
If someone was going to "make up stories", wouldn't you have to wait, see what they made up, and then present your defense? Wouldn't it take a while to read the book, and write a 40 page response?
Or of course, there is the possibility that the messiah, is also able to see the future?
After all, he was able to see dead people.

Have you ever heard of something being leaked? It only takes one disgruntled employee. I get albums 9 months before they are even in the store. I saw Iron Man in February because it was leaked. Obviously information was leaked to Obama or the DNC and they had all the time they needed to make a rebuttal. You old guys need to get with the times.

Every jot and tittle in Corsi's book is available for free somewhere on the Internet. (That's why Obama's camp appeared to know ahead of time. ANYone could have known ahead of time!).
Corsi was enterprising enough to pull it all together and put it between two covers and my oh my, guess who's going to make a bundle off free information...

The libs can't answer the charges made, so the next thing to do is demonize the author. That's just the way they play. Do you really want that kind of people running this country?

Demonize him how? That information about how he pulled together all the Internet stuff is in every review in newspapers, magazines, and professional library journals. Heck, if he can make a fortune doing something no one else thought to do, more power to him. I'll borrow the book from the library if I decide to read it, and not waste my money (and line his pockets).

I for one will read it as soon as it becomes available at my library (I'm47 on the reserve list ) . It will give me time to finish 'Man of the People:The Maverick life and career of John McCain 'by Democrat Paul Alexander
Then I will of course read Obama's rebuttals.

I've never heard of Corsi before this past week, but if in fact he said such, his credibility is out the window. In which case he would be just another snake oil author trying to cash in on the election year.

I wasn't referring to you. I meant the media blitz against Corsi, without attempting to address the issues he raises.

Corsi's credentials are impressive: "He earned a B.A. from Case Western Reserve University in 1968, and is a member of the Phi Beta Kappa Society. He earned a Ph.D. in Political Science from Harvard University in 1972; his dissertation was titled Prior Restraint, Prior Punishment, and Political Dissent; a Moral and Legal Evaluation.[2] He has also published works on political protest and terrorism." Jerome Corsi - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jerome_Corsi)
I haven't seen the book, but it is creating quite a stir. Some time back I determined that a book has more value if it has footnotes and an index; believe it or not, some don't. I have heard that this book is extensively footnoted.

Thanks, gal. I'm glad we're still friends.
Obama has addressed the issues as they arose in the past (much in the book is "ancient history" from earlier days in his campaign). I'm not even sure if Corsi came up with new stuff, but just rehashed most of the stuff that we already know, such as Wright and Ayers and Reczko, etc. There will probably be one about McCain too by someone else, if it's not out already.

Perhaps the book is rehash and the issues seem as water under the bridge. But ; many of us have not forgotten and/or think his answers have not been sufficient . In fairness I will as I mentioned read both Corsi's claims and Obama's rebuttals. I should have enough time to do that before Rev. Wright's book is published in October.:D

Right here at AMHD, we could have written the book before Corsi did and could have even added a little humor from our more colorful posters. But no, no one thought of it. I could have had a bundle of money for my old age.

Actually that's not so impressive. Corsi went to school, wrote a dissertation, and books. Libraries across America are full of authors with similar credentials. But if it is a fact that he said, "Hillary is a Lesbian and Muslims worship Satan," he's just an ignoramus.

Mine are too. I have a bachelor's and a master's and am a long-time member of Mensa. I've written a long article for a historical journal, have written four non-fiction books, and just got my first short story published. I have been in the past and again am a regular columnist for the local Mensa magazine. And I think it's time I write a book about John and Cindy.

It's only August. And it's all on the Internet somewhere. Just have to find it. Good thing I'm a Googler par excellence. Can't plariarize though. Got to be careful. Maybe I'll call Corsi for help.

I'm willing to give the book a fair reading .As George said it is supposedly well footnoted so I wlll know his sources. Also clearly the guy is not a partisan;although it concerns me that he is a bit of a tin foil hat guy. . He has called for the impeachment of President Bush and for the reopening of the 9-11 investigations in support of the 9-11 'Truthers'. I suspect that if he had written a book on that subject he would not be getting vilified .

Why is the New York Times and other liberals attacking Jerome Corsi? Hello:
Oh, you know those well documented footnotes?? He cites his own writings as his source. That's silly... Bwa, ha ha ha ha.
