When I was 16 my parents became US citizens through naturalization. At that time they couldn't find or have my birth certificate because I was born in a refugee camp in the Philippines. I am now 27 and I was finally able to track down my birth certificate. Am I a US citizen?

Your parents aren't US citizens at the time you were born. Did your parents pettioned you after locating your birth certificate?

We recovered my birth certificated when I was 26. My parents have not petitioned me. Can they still petition me even though I am over 18?

You are not a us citizen until someone sponcers you wich they have not yet and form the looks of it I'm not relly sure how you are working or gooing to school with no papers if your paretns are still here in the states they would need to sponcer you or a familey member or close relitive would need to sponcer you or if you are married to a us citizen they could sponcer you also your would know if you are a us citizen by the paper work you have and use for being here to go to school and work it would say on your paper work just because your paretns are us citizens that does not amek you one also you must file to become one if you were not boren here
