I think more information is needed to give a thorough answer. When did you lose custody? What reason did they give? Do you have visitation? Do you have a job? House? Car?

Chihuahua is right we need to know a lot more before we can give you an answer worth anything.

If you lost custody through the Courts - and I would venture a guess that you did or else you would say that you surrendered custody - you can only regain custody through another hearing in that same Court.

You would have to show that the circumstances that led to you losing custody have changed and have been changed for a period, oftentimes a year or more.

I don't know what the circumstances were but sometimes the Court orders certain things you have to do before you get your child back - counselling, find employment, drug rehab, something along those lines. If you have such an Order then you must follow through with all those conditions before you can apply to get the child back. In fact, you can't even apply to get your child back until you have done everything that the Court requires.

I don't know if you have visitation - if you also lost visitation you "probably" would get some visitation, perhaps supervised, and then work your way back (if everything is ok) to custody.
