Do you care to explain, or did you get all of your frustration out in that very sentence plonak?

Hahah rubberneckers on the highway that cause horrendous traffic.. even if there is just a car that broke down and a tow truck is helping, people have to slow down to look.. it drives me insane!!

Sometimes I wonder if we truly are the smartest species on the planet.. it's just beyond stupidity... I'm sooooo frustrated, but I have to admit, writing it on here makes me feel better, thanks guys;)

Wow Sneezy, I hate to intrude but that is bad to drink to fall asleep.. my grandpa who was an alcoholic his whole life told my dad "don't ever drink to fall asleep, or you won't ever be able to fall asleep sober."

In short my grandpa died of liver failure at 60... hate to make you feel bad, but that seems like a problem to me... maybe you should look into getting help?

Yikes. Yeah, it all started in college. I never slept a whole lot... since high school... usually 2 - 4 hours a day... which was OK, but I never had trouble actually falling asleep. Then after college, I started having trouble falling asleep... and now, I've tried lots of things... nothing works.

I work out regularly, I don't eat before I sleep... I'm relaxed... I'm tired... but nothing. Doctor gave me ambien to try, but... not a big fan of taking pills to sleep. So here I am...

Are you really stressed and anxious a lot? That could be a factor.. maybe your brain is running too fast... you could have ADD..

My ex boyfriend has ADD and without his medication, it's sooo hard for him to fall asleep, because too many things are running through his brain at way high speeds, lol.. did you ever think you might have it?

ISneezeFunny

Will you need surgery to remove the spoon from your eye/fork from your neck?

(I took a friend, her foster child and the foster child's friend to a local carnival. If you have any questions about Miley Cyrus, the Jonas Brothers or some sort of virginity ring (such as THEM: "Is that a purity ring?" At this point my friend snorted loudly through her nose.

ME: "No, it's a wedding ring." THEM: "The Jonas Brothers wear purity rings." ME: Who are the Jonas Brothers, kids in your school?" THEM: eyes rolling. They think I live in a cave.)

- just ask me. I know all the answers. I know nothing about what they are doing or going to do in school - and neither do they.)

I don't know about that - for some of us this is very good for business. As is backing up without looking.

I recommend both - don't look before you back up and drive 15 on all entrance ramps. When you actually get onto the expressway, drop your speed to 10.

Test the skills and reflexes of the driver behind you - start up a signal and then slam on your brakes and see if he/she is paying attention.

Ppls aren't listening to me.

Yes, apparently you wear some sort of ring (looks like a wedding ring) and it's a promise to yourself or somebody that you will remain a virgin and/or pure (which may or may not be the same thing) until marriage.

I guess you missed that episode of Dr. Phil? ;) LOL! The kids are now having "purity balls" where the parents are spending thousands of dollars to throw them a purity party! Kind of like what a sweet sixteen party used to be, but on a much larger scale! It's almost like they are throwing a huge lavish wedding, without the groom! (or bride) The girl has purity sisters (kind of like bridemaids) and the parents invite all of their friends, and they have a ceremony and a reception afterwards! The concept is good in theory, but hey, how many people do you know that take a "vow" and then cheat? ;)

Alty
Aug 21, 2008, 02:43 PM
Wow, I missed that episode.

Okay, I'm probably going to get smacked for saying this, but here goes. I do not expect my kids to remain virgins until they are married. It would be great if they waited for love, but I believe that you have to test the water before you dive in. ;)

In preparation for that, I talk to my kids about sex, precautions, pregnancy, STD's, love, waiting until you're ready, all age appropriate, we up the info when we feel they're ready. I believe in being prepared. I didn't wait, I have to assume that they won't either. I'd rather have a sexually active teen that knows the risks, takes precautions, then a pregnant teen or a teen with AIDS.

Okay, I'm ready, who wants to smack me? ;)

I won't be smackin you! ;) If you don't teach them early these days, and just think that they will make the right decisions without the info, parents would be fooling themselves. Like I said, the purity rings, or purity ball thing, is all good in theory! But you know? I think if I would've been offered a big party like that, without any other info, I would have said... bring on the party, and then I'll sneak off afterwards and call my boyfriend! LOL!

I have to say that if parents are waiting until 16 to throw that party, well, that's a bit late for most kids today. Eeeek!

People who don't turn up for an appointment.. so you've lost a days pay because you've had to take a day off work waiting in for them.

People who never indicate in their cars.

Waiting for a phone call that never comes.

The phone continually ringing when your trying to do something, only to find when you eventually decide to answer... because it's disturbing your concentration,it turns out to be someone selling double glazing or alike...

Okay, miss this board for a day or two and there is lots of reading to do to catch up!

Earlier Depressed in MO posted about people singing and not knowing the words.. I am totally guilty of that - in a major way. YOU KEEP ON SHOUTIN' YOU KEEP ON Shouting.. I want to rock and roll all nighhhhhhhhhhht and party every day! Okay, well for YEARS and YEARS when I was younger - this is what I sang..

YOU KIMOSABAY... YOU KIMOSABAY... (and then I got the rest right).. Yes, I realize my spelling is wrong, but you get the point! Still cracks me up so thought I'd share.

Tralyn, I am also guilty of that. I'm a bit older than you, I think, so you probably don't know this song, but the correct lyrics were "Everytime you go away you take a piece of me with you", I sang "Everytime you go away you take a piece of meat with you", don't know why, the correct lyrics make so much more sense. ;)

... but sadly, MOST of my friends are stuck in some weird time zone where everything's 45 minutes late. Grahhh

In the morning, I woke up at 8am... then felt like I could go back to sleep for another 30 min or so...

My newest pet peeve, well it probably always has been, but the lack of education kids are getting these days. Not only at school, but I suspect some parents too. They don't know how to spell because all they do all day is text, they don't know if they are pregnant or not, or many times don't even know how they can get pregnant... probably because they were texting during that class, and they have absolutely no respect for their elders or any kind of authority!

I blame a lot of this on the media, poor parenting of all of these kids that are having babies at 14, and haven't got a clue, the way our schools are run and funded, and the total disregard for teaching children morality, and the basics they need to survive.

Okay, I just got myself mad again... lol

Alty
Aug 25, 2008, 01:05 PM
Breathe Starby. Remember, we do a great service to many of these kids by coming to AMHD and answering their questions. They don't always listen, or want to hear what we have to say, but at least they have somewhere to go to ask and learn what they obviously aren't being taught at school or at home.

We can't save the whole world, but we can help the few who come here with an open mind and are willing to listen.

So, chin up, big smile, and go change someone's life for the better. :)

This has been one of my greatest pet peeves... and I'm not sure why I didn't put this on here before. People who lie. Not just... lie like, "I...can't make dinner...because...I feel sick," lie... I'm going with absolutely RIDICULOUS and pathological lies.

Example 1:

I went to high school with a guy... who made up THESE lies:

Freshmen year: I used to be a ball boy for the Lakers

Truth: he works at the movie theater... concession stand.

Sophomore year: I'm a junior racer... I drive a porsche 911 turbo on the weekends... got a company to sponsor me... etc.

Truth: he drives a 97 honda accord... and it took him a week during junior year to learn how to drive manual.

Junior year: I got a BMW custom made and imported...

... one week later...

Me: um.. what happened to the beamer?
Him: oh, I wrecked it after 2 days, so my mom had it sent back.

Truth: there's... no need for this "truth" anymore. It's just sad.

Senior year: I started a new business... y'know, doing imports/exports... and it's going very well, our quarterly is looking good.

Truth:... he cleaned out his garage and sold stuff on eBay. Seriously. That was his business.

New one: member here arguing with me about pregnancy vitamins and how bad they are for you... apparently she claims she's 26, married to a doctor, is a journalist, has 7 degrees, and makes 10 mil a year... while on the other post, she's a 14 year old girl asking for help on a boy.

... why lie?

asking
Aug 27, 2008, 10:38 AM
they don't know if they are pregnant or not, or many times don't even know how they can get pregnant...probably because they were texting during that class,

I don't disagree but I have to share an anecdote I heard about a graduate student at a major university, in a molecular biology program. She also didn't know she was pregnant -- for several months. She was so busy working late at night in the lab, didn't pay much attention to her own body, just didn't notice. As I heard it, one of the women janitors commented on her obvious state and the grad student was like, who me? This was back in the early 80s. To me this is inconceivable (no pun intended :)), but obviously everybody's different.

asking
Aug 27, 2008, 10:41 AM
I don't know why, but that kind of lying doesn't really get to me. I think I just find people like that unknowable, like they are not even people to me? I don't try to understand them or feel much when I realize that it's all lies. I'm more bothered by people who lie to hurt other people in some way, to bully or manipulate or evade responsibility.

Recently in atlanta... a 15 year old girl had a stomachache during her softball competition... coach took her to the hospital, found out she was in labor.

Amazing! I'm just stunned by stories like that. How, what, why??

How can you not know you are that pregnant? How can anyone else not know? What planet are they all living on? Even a 6 month pregnancy (let's not even talk 8 or 9 months) is really obvious. I keep thinking these stories can't be true, that maybe she was just 2 months pregnant and it was a miscarriage. But I keep hearing them...

new one: member here arguing with me about pregnancy vitamins and how bad they are for you...apparently she claims she's 26, married to a doctor, is a journalist, has 7 degrees, and makes 10 mil a year...while on the other post, she's a 14 year old girl asking for help on a boy.

...why lie?

I've reported her post. Before I did I made the dumb mistake of rating her an agree by forgetting to click the disagree button. Hopefully something will be done by the mods.

amazing! I'm just stunned by stories like that. how, what, why????

How can you not know you are that pregnant?!

Are you sure this really happened?
Me and my boggled mind

So true... How can one not know.. The parents, adults around the pregnant teen, and the girl herself, how can no one know?

I remember there was a girl, 15 year old and we travelled on the same transport while this girl was being transferred to a rehab.

Just from the way the girl sat,I knew she was pregnant. This girl was more on the chubby side, but still the way she carried herself and sat was enough of a sign to guess she was pregnant.
All of us working at the rehab knew the moment we saw her that she was pregnant.

Guess what? The mother denied knowing anything about her daughter being pregnant. As that particular rehab did not cater to babies/children of addicts, she had to be transferred to another facility because of her pregnancy which the rehab Doc found out after a routine checkup.

My sister was 5 months pregnant with her 3rd child before she realized she was pregnant.

She has had SERIOUS problems with her "woman parts" though--getting periods that lasted 5 months to not getting a period for a year, that sort of thing--to the point of having a full hysterectomy at age 27. She hadn't gotten a period, but also didn't get morning sickness or anything like that, and none of the symptoms of her first two pregnacies. She knew she was pregnant when she felt the baby move.

So... I can see making it halfway into a pregnancy without knowing---but there's no WAY I can see making it to term. For god's sake, all those feet and elbows in your bladder would give it away if nothing else did.

People who forward all that crap on to begin with--because it says that they'll have bad luck or good luck or will meet their lover or something good will happen or god will bless them or it's Un-American not to.

I've had email since 1992. There's very little I haven't already seen 5 times.

The ones that REALLY tick me off, though, are the ones from "friends and family just looking out for my welfare" that are extremely Christian. I am NOT going to convert back to Christianity for an email, for the Lady's sake!

The other thing I hate is people that spam MySpace bulletins constantly with every cute little YouTube or spam message they ever got. I don't CARE about your stupid music/gospel message/Muppet Show nostalgia!

More of an annoyance than a pet peeve, and I suppose it's the fault of the person who can't type or spell... AND I suppose I should just back off those finding unique ways to make a buck...

But what about people who buy up domain names that are just slight misspellings from the real site you want to go to and then redirect you... its no big deal if I'm typing in a URL wrong for, uh, I don't know, some site that's a .gov or .edu and I type in .com or whatever and it redirects me to a site with searches related to the site I was looking for...

But my wife mistyped askjeeves a few months back (I think she typed in geeves) and next thing I know I'm hearing her yell for me to come because "honey, im on porn tube!"...

And I'm thinking to myself as I come to the office "well I sure as hell didnt upload a naughty video of you so you'd better ask your bf"... before I realize she was redirected to a porn site and couldn't get out. One of those "popup" type things where you have to hit control/alt/del to close the application because it won't let you "x" out.

To those of you who haven't had this happen, its annoying as heck, especially when you have other tabs open and don't really want to close your browser.

I get it. You're trying to make a buck off my ignorant spelling. Just don't direct me to something that might be offensive and then refuse to let me out without closing the app.

I know what you mean, this happened to me while searching for a kids rhyme site,I am not sure what I misspelled but it took me to a site no parent would want to open while a child is waiting patiently for nursery rhymes.

Hey I just found a pet peeve I didn't know I had: I hate it when companies publish only phone numbers with words in them, like "call us at 555-porkpies". I really don't like having to decipher the letters on the dial to figure out how to reach them. I know it's a minor thing but I do find it annoying.

"call us at 555-porkpies".

Am I the only one who is DYING to call 555-porkpies?

I worked at a company that had a receptionist who was the surrogate mother to all... nice, kind lady with a great sense of humor. One of the workers, after having this prank pulled on her, got her to call a number for free dog food. She was a dog lover and the worker told her to put it on speakerphone so she could help her through the process. She did this, of course, in front of the entire lab group that worked with her and knew her well.

Well... needless to say, 1-800-my-puppy was what the worker told her she was calling... instead it was 1-800-my-pu__y (you work it out) and connected her to a sultry woman's voice who was glad to entertain her for a minute by minute fee. It was beautiful. She turned three shades of red and smacked each of us at least once. Hard to run away when you're laughing hard.

Alty
Sep 4, 2008, 09:38 PM
Do you have the male version phone number? Would that me 1-800-my-pe__s? Hubby's on nights again. That's my pet peeve, companies that are open nights. :(

I'm lonely, I'm grumpy, I've had a bad day, well, some of it anyway.

I need a back massage, with some tingly oil. I want rose petals on the bed and satin sheets. I'll wear my lingerie, he'll wear his silk boxers, we'll put the kama sutra tape in the DVD and enjoy. This sucks! :( Right now I'd settle for some dirty talk. ;)

Really huge pet peeve right now, my hubby's boss.

Okay, vent over, I'm okay, really, I'll be fine.

So, how is everyone?

Synnen
Sep 4, 2008, 09:47 PM
You know... being a night person personally, I LIKE companies that are open nights.

I freakin' HATE companies that are ONLY open 9-5. Like everyone ELSE doesn't have to work those hours too! Or, like the DMV, open 11-3, Monday through Thursday. Bah.

More companies should have hours for those of us that don't even get HOME until 7 PM.

Sounds like you need to find KP, Alty ;)

Alty
Sep 4, 2008, 09:56 PM
Hee, hee, yes, I do. KP! :)

Synnen, my hubby is a machinist, so he works at night, but the company isn't "open" per say. He works odd hours, for two weeks he works 7am until 4pm and then 2 weeks 4pm until 12:30am, it sucks. I hate it when he works nights. :(

This is his first night shift week, one more to go and then he's back on days, now days I like. :)

Synnen
Sep 4, 2008, 10:05 PM
Having worked in a factory in the summer--even though he doesn't see you as much, I bet those 2 weeks are something of a relief to him, because of how hot it gets inside a machine shop.

I also worked "southern swing"--5 days of 'days', 2 days off, 6 days of evenings, 1 day off, 7 days of nights, 4 days off, and back to days for the same cycle. So just think---it COULD be worse!

Alty
Sep 4, 2008, 10:11 PM
That's true Synnen, it could be worse.

Allheart's Pet Peeves -

- People who are unkind - judgemental - can't put themselves in someone else's shoes for 5 seconds.

- People who don't like you because of the way you look

- People who take advantage of nice people and push them around

- People who ask "Did you get your hair cut" - You answer = "yes" and they say "oh". Hello!!! If you don't like it don't even bother asking.

- People who make life more difficult for others, when it doesn't have to be.

- People who mock you when you are in a crowd, becuase of their own insecurities.

- People who can't embrace differences of other people.

- People who know you are busy up to your eyeballs and mock you for working so hard and do all they can to distract you, because they are bored with their work.

- People who just can't understand that everyone has feelings, everyone hurts, and putting others down, is not the way to feel better about yourself.

- People who are spend so much time ridiculing others shortcomings, instead of taking the time, to work on their own shorcomings and trying to better themselves.

= Women who don't support other women. When a women gets promoted, there alwasy seems to be a group of women clucking " I wonder how she got that job". Argh!!!

- People who talk down to people.
- People who mistrust, genuine love, care and concern coming their way. Question it and reject it as "phony".

- People who find joy at other's misfortunes.

- People who are in such a rush, that they can't share a smile.

- People who get upset at the elderly because they are moving to slow in front of them. That will be all of us someday.

- And lastly - People who fail to realize that this life is temporary, and it won't matter what material things you have gained, what accomplishments you have achieved, what money you accumulated - because all of that will be left behind, and the only thing that will remain, is if you shared all the goodness in your heart, an embrace, a kind gesture or word, did you make a positive difference, or negative one. Did you lift someone's spirit, or break their spirit. Did you lend a hand when needed, or were to blind to see the need.
And did you count your blessings and be grateful or did you desire someone elses blessings. Did you dry a tear, or cause a tear? Did you realize how special you are and how special others are or could you only see faults?

And lastly :), and this is something that I do try and work on myself, is to have more understanding, to care for, and not get upset at those who do cause pet peeves, as they are the same as us, and may just have painful issues, or actual reasons they do the things they do.

Final thought - to make someone smile, can last for miles, causing a tear, could last for years.
I realize this is a thread started back in the summer, but I had to comment on your post.

This is soooo compassionate, sooo caring,, sooo correct,my perception of you has gone up 100 fold.

I was a bit dissapointed too, especially in Bob. When Matty asked him to say why he thought Susie or Sugar should win and he said "they shouldn't" I felt like he just stabbed Sugar in the back.

I have to say though, Sugar played a great game but when it came down to tribal council and answering everyone's questions, she sucked. She was acting like she couldn't care less if she won or not.

I agree Tuscany. I think that they all forgot that it is in fact a game, not real life. You're fighting for 1 million dollars, of course you're going to do whatever it takes to get it. The losers are mad because they didn't get the upper hand, that someone else beat them to the punch, but, if they're honest, they each know that they would lie, cheat and steal to be in the final three.

Nobody likes a sore loser.

I'm a little worried about Niki. I had company lastnite, and Niki was having a great time playing with them. Then later on, Niki put her paws up on one of my guests leg. She looked at me and said, why is she quivering like that? I called Nik to see what was going on, and her body was doing this kind of quivering, shivering thing.

It was nice and warm inside, and she hadn't been out in awhile, and didn't want to go out. You could visibly see her shaking. It was like, she would quiver for several seconds, and then it would stop for a few, and then started again. Then after a while, she seemed fine again, and was back to playing.

So I just forgot about it, but when we got up this morning, she was doing it again! I don't know why she is doing it. It's weird. I hope there is nothing wrong. Any idea's Alty?

KBC, when people don't return your calls, do what I do when the last time I thought someone broke in my apartment.

Call 1: "Sir, stay outside. Wait for the police."

30 min wait

Call 2: "Sir, they are responding to other more urgent calls. Please wait."

15 min wait.

Call 3: Yeah, don't worry about the cops. I shot him myself.

2 min wait. 6 cops show up.

Just call the doc and leave him a message that you're taking a hack saw to your knee by yourself.

Alty, I heard you guys just discovered the number 0. Must be the new fascinating feature of your day. Plus, it definitely overshadows the whole "wheel" discovery last week.

Starby, I hate those people who text while knee-driving. They should AT LEAST have the skills to text with one hand, shave with the other, while holding a cup of scalding coffee with their lips, while driving a manual vehicle... like me.

Did something frighten her? My Lab used to quiver/shiver if something scared him - often it was the wind.

Hi Judy! No that's the strange thing. She was just fine and jumping around, and playing ball. She knows my friends quite well, because they take her on walks, and of course anyone that walks her is her best friend, lol. so she wasn't afraid of them at all. Niki isn't a nervous dog and really isn't scared of much. It wouldn't have bothered me if she hadn't have done it again yesterday. She seems okay so far today. I'm just wondering what in the world it could have been. Maybe muscle spasms?

OH, and she just hasn't seemed like herself really since then either.

I don't think full body muscle spasms - maybe she's feverish?

Dec 21, 2008, 12:58 PM
She did feel a little bit warm, but I figured that was because she was running around so much, being hyper. I'll just have to keep an eye on her I guess. She seems to be eating and drinking okay. She's not the kind of dog that gets into things and eats them either, so it's not anything she's digested. Not like the person who just came onto the pet forum, and her only worry was that her dog was not drinking, after he ate NAILS! Geeeezzz, some people!!

Well Niki went into convulsions after she was attacked, and then again after she was sprayed in the face by a skunk. Niki's only 5. She was just diagnosed with a thyroid condition though.

I had a dog that seizured but it was full blown seizures, not shivering/shaking. She was confused afterward.

Maybe she's all excited about Santa showing up shortly. Or maybe - who knows why dogs do these things? I swear it's to make the owners have mini-breakdowns.

My bigger German Shepherd has now decided it's a good idea to pace around every night at bedtime. We "all" go to bed, she gets up and stalks around the house, panting. After about 30 minutes she comes back to bed. I have no idea what started this - she's as big as a house, afraid of nothing and 4 years old and this is a new thing.

Yeah, Niki has started this thing where she will stand and stare at me from the kitchen, which would normally mean she wants to go out. She'll wait for me to get all of the way to the door as she follows me. I open the door, and I swear she gives me this look... like HA HA fooled you!. and she walks back to the living room. I guess she's making up her own games now just to tick me off, lol.

So I also thought that maybe this shaking thing, was to get attention? I don't know. Dogs can be funny. I also think she might be a little bored because it's been so cold out, that I can't leave her outside for long... and I can't play with her all day long either.

Has anybody read anything else "No name" has posted - his language, calling people bitc*es, bragging about his false proof - his slurs about a specific religion have already been pulled today.

I don't think his volent past is over. The moderators will probably get there before I get back there. He seems to think this is Myspace.

If someone can control him maybe this is a good time to start before this 15 year old terrorizes the board and gets himself suspended. Any advice I have for him would get ME suspended!

Well, after all the time and effort I have spent with this young man,it really surprises me that this is the first the moderators have been appraised of his 'potty mouth'.

I can't even wonder who might have expressed their concern for the wording, much less considered this inappropriate for his needs to be concerned.

If someone can help a young man and get him to open up to the extent he has over the past few weeks and then pull the rug out from under him is abandoning him to a fate they should suffer.

Too bad the help side of this site is so closed to the needs of others where they have to sacrifice a few for their wants,so far there has been no negative responses to this thread and as soon as I advertise the thread it gets pulled.

I guess I shouldn't be all that surprised.

Well Eileen1218, I just went and looked at one of your answers. Just your very latest. You gave incorrect information, that could have been detrimental to the OP. If you saw my answer right after yours as trying to outdue yours, well then yes you are right! I gave the correct information, so the OP's dog would not get pregnant until he was able to have her spayed after New Yrs. Now if you see that as a joke, I would suggest you join another site where people give incorrect advice!

Newest pet peeve. When Niki has to go out to pee, and my door is frozen shut! She can't hold it, so she pees on the floor, and then goes hiding in the corner and won't come out, because she thinks she is in trouble! She has never peed in the house, and she just looked at me with horror in her big brown eyes.

Poor baby! :(

I just had this happen with french doors! They were frozen shut. My yard is fenced and so I thought I'd cut through the garage and let them out that way (they aren't allowed in the unfenced front yard). The side load garage door was frozen shut. So there I stood in the family room, hair dryer in hand, "defrosting" the french doors! My poor dog who is on steroids because of her skin rash simply couldn't wait and was mortified.

In the middle of this my cousin called. She pressed her garage door "open" button, there was a great deal of noise and the door, which was frozen to the ground, pulled off the track. She's currently trapped in her house.

'Tis the season -

(How is Niki doing with the shivering?)

I haven't seen her shaking like that since, so who knows what caused it. I hope that me flipping out trying to open the door before she had to go didn't bring on a relapse! LOL! Of course I didn't get mad at her though. She just thought I was mad because I was cursing at the damn door! ;)

No, the door got unstuck and they got out - although the snow against the door was over a foot deep and they had to sort of close their eyes and push through the doggie door. I couldn't get the storm door to open - that's also frozen - so they had to use the doggie door.

- and as far as being followed someone is using two names and just got caught stalking on another thread. Can only imagine if this is the behavior on AMHD what they are like in real life!

Wow, I've missed a lot in the few days I've been gone. Pet peeves out the wazoo. My pet peeve, not being here to address others pet peeves.

Ken, I didn't see the thread you talked about as it was pulled, but, if that kid has such a potty mouth I'd hate to say it but I would have gone in with both guns blazing and he would have gotten a piece of my mind. I understand that he may have problems but that's no reason to be disrespectful. I have problems too but I try to keep my potty mouth under control when asking for advice. He's young, but that's no excuse. Sorry buddy, maybe if I had a chance to view the thread I'd be able to contribute but I've been absent and can only go on what was said here. We are here to help, but we do it for free, so the least that we should get is respect from the people coming here for advice.

Eilleen, you have a major chip on your shoulder. This is not a competitive site, we simply do our best to give accurate information to the people coming here looking for advice. You can't guess, you can't pull info out of thin air and expect others to accept it. If you're wrong you're wrong, that's the bottom line. At least be mature enough to back down when you have been proven incorrect. If you don't know the answer, don't answer the question, it really is that simple. If you feel the need to offer your 2 cents, then make sure that people know that that's all it's worth, 2 cents. Understand?

I'm in a mood, everyone watch out! :)

Gave you a balancer sweetie, but the way we're going I'll have to spread the rep like crazy if you keep getting reddies.

I've got your back, but I may have to call in some backup. Judy? Ken? HC? M? Anyone! It's reddie fest, and we're dying. :(

Darn newbies!

Alty
Dec 22, 2008, 03:04 PM
I actually laugh when I get a reddie, I only care if it's from someone I respect.

When someone comes on and gives me reddie after reddie and doesn't even know how to spell, well it's laughable. Am I supposed to feel bad that someone with a lower IQ then my dogs gave me a reddie?

What does bother me is when someone comes on to an important thread, guesses at an answer and then gives the person with the correct answer a reddie. Then that same person starts following that person around, calls her a "know it all" and even comes here to complain. Did she think we'd all rally to her side?

If you're going to guess and you guess wrong, then at least be big enough to accept that you were wrong, don't reddie the person that gave accurate, correct info.

Some people need to be knocked down a few pegs.

I'm in a mood Judy, this isn't good. ;)

P.S. I still haven't gotten my reindeer, Xmas is only a few days away.

Ooooh, major pet peeve. My puppy is chewing on my table and throwing up on my carpet! I have enough to do, I don't need puke detail as well!
