According to the Huffpos Sam Stein ;BO's campaign that once decried the influence of outside groups on politics and vowed to control its own message, now will now start looking the other way when it comes to spending by 527s.

Senator Barack Obama will start looking the other way when it comes to the role 527s and other independent groups play in the election, a source close to his campaign told the Huffington Post.

The implicit acknowledgment that outside organizations have a role to play signifies a marked contrast from Obama's longstanding policy that electoral efforts be funneled through his campaign.

Expect the Obamanation to go negative with BO protesting "who ...me " ?

Never bothered Republicans before. They have lots of old money ties. McCain just better hope he doesn't keep peeving off Paris Hilton, or that "old white haired dude" is going to have to listen another round of commercials.

To tell you the truth Steve ,McCain has been weak and vulnerable on this issue because of his purer than thou stand against outside groups. He has said he would disavow such help and is forcing 527s to go ahead without his approval. He has become a slave to his ill-advised campaign finance reform efforts ;and it could cost him the election .

Obama made a pious announcement that he would not accept such support but now is embracing them. He did a similar move with federal matching funds.

Wait until ACORN tag-teams with Moveon.org McCain won't know what hit him.

No doubt McCain painted himself in a corner on this... and it IS going to get ugly. I'd wager it's going to get much uglier from the left - while professing their innocence as usual. It's such a shame how they manage to get away with that.
